Lainey Wilson shared an unforgettable moment with a 9-year-old fan named Davey Jean during a recent concert.

The country superstar and Yellowstone actress was in the midst of her headlining performance at Visalia Fox Theatre in Visalia, California on Friday evening (Jan. 14) during her Country With A Flare Tour, when she spotted a young fan in the crowd holding up a sign alongside her mom, Brittney Stanley, and dad.

“Your biggest, littlest fan has had open heart surgery and has a heart like a truck,” Brittney’s poster read, while her daughter’s simply said, “Lainey, I love you!”

Upon spotting the bright, homemade posters in the crowd, Wilson extended an invitation for Davey to join her on stage.

“You got to come up here for a second. Come here. You got on the bell-bottoms and everything,” Wilson said. “Come on up here. Oh my goodness gracious – get on up here… Oh my goodness, you are so stinkin’ cute.” Wilson then told the sold-out crowd, “Y’all look at the sign, wow, y’all she had open heart surgery. If anybody’s got a heart like a truck, it’s her, y’all make some noise.”

As the young fan entered the stage with her poster, Wilson told her, “Thank you so much. I am so glad you are here.”

“This is the real star of the show right here y’all,” Wilson declared.

After congratulating her on being so strong and brave after having open heart surgery, she asked Davey for a hug. “Bring it in, sister,” Wilson said as she wrapped her arms around the fan, who was all smiles. Wilson then autographed her sign before Davey ran off to her parents, who were in the front row waiting for her.

Wilson then dedicated her performance of “Heart Like A Truck” to the brave young fan.

Two days after sharing the memorable moment on stage with Wilson, the young fan’s mom, Brittney Stanley, took to social media to share photos from the concert on Instagram. In addition to sharing photos, Brittney also detailed how Wilson noticed posters they were holding in the crowd, which were handmade by Brittney and her 9-year-old daughter prior to the show.

“I think we are still in shock over the fact that Davey got to get on stage last night with her favorite artist,” Brittney wrote. “Mommy, Lee and Santa worked hard to get her these tickets and spent all day making posters in hopes that Lainey would see them. Well, not only did she see them but Davey got to go on stage and get a big hug, a kiss on the head and her poster is now signed for life! Thank you, @laineywilsonmusic, for making our girl feel how special we already know she is! Your concert was amazing and I’m sure Davey Jean will remember it forever!”

“As if our night last night couldn’t get any better, Lainey @laineywilsonmusic had to go and post a picture of Davey, and our posters we made her, on her Instagram page! Ahhhhh I’m dying! Core memories for the most amazing little warrior in the world!” Brittney captioned a second post.

In addition to Brittney sharing photos of the emotional moment, Wilson also posted a clip to her Instagram. “You’re one tough cookie Davey. Thanks for being brave and comin up on stage with me ❤️ 🛻” she captioned the video.

“I had to give her a ‘lil shoutout ’cause if anyone’s got a heart like a truck, it’s her,”

This isn’t the first time that Wilson has highlighted a young fan’s brave battle with a heart condition. In fact, several months ago, Wilson took to TikTok to share a special message for a family with a newborn, Asa, who was recovering in the NICU from open-heart surgery.

At the time, TikTok user Tad Thornton shared a video of his newborn daughter in the NICU at Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas to the sound of Wilson’s hit single, “Heart Like A Truck.” Upon seeing the clip, Wilson duetted the video, which she simply captioned “my heart 💛,” and encouraged the infant to keep fighting.

“You are beautiful and if anybody’s got a heart like a truck, it’s you,” Wilson shared, before adding, “You keep on fighting.”

According to Asa’s family’s GoFundMe page, Asa was born with a rare heart defect, which require open-heart surgery at birth, and weighed 4lbs 13oz.
