Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll are starring in the Power To The Patients public service announcement (PSA) alongside Valerie June to demand price transparency in healthcare. The 30-second game day PSA will air on Sunday (Feb. 11) during Super Bowl LVIII, which finds the Kansas City Chiefs facing off against the San Francisco 49ers.

Demanding Price Transparency In Healthcare with Televised PSA

The clip, shared ahead of the big game on YouTube, features Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll and Valerie June speaking out against unfair and hidden pricing in healthcare. With their message, the trio are calling on lawmakers to pass legislation that will strengthen healthcare price transparency.

Wilson, Jelly Roll and June are fighting for a more affordable and equitable healthcare system through systemwide price transparency, according to a press release.

The PSA finds the trio taking a stance for the cause, stating, “Hospitals and Insurers are robbing all of us. 100 million Americans drowning in medical debt. When hospitals and insurers don’t show their prices, they charge us whatever they want. Their greed is destroying the American Dream. We look to our elected officials in Congress to put a stop to the overcharging. Empower us with real prices. And hold hospitals and insurance companies accountable. We demand actual prices and true transparency in healthcare. Power to the Patients.”

The Power To The Patients PSA will broadcast on TV during Super Bowl LVIII in Washington, D.C., as well as on digital platforms across the country. Additionally, Power to the Patients also had planes pulling banners flying over Las Vegas throughout the duration of Super Bowl weekend.

What Is Power To The Patients?

According to the organization’s official website, Power to the Patients is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to creating a more affordable, accessible, and equitable healthcare system through price transparency. For years, hospitals and insurers have been disregarding rules requiring them to disclose prices to patients in advance of care. Patients, families, workers, unions, and employers need systemwide healthcare price transparency to make fully informed decisions about the cost and quality of their care. All healthcare consumers have the right to upfront prices. Our Health. Our Money. Power to the Patients.
