Kane Brown revealed last month that he has a collaboration entitled “Mad At This World” with his wife, Katelyn, on the way, although he did not specify when.

Prior to meeting Brown, Katelyn was already within the music industry, working on her career as a pop/R&B singer before she made the move to Nashville and married Brown in October 2018. Just a year after their marriage in October 2019, the couple welcomed their first child, their daughter, Kingsley Rose.

The country superstar said in a recent interview with Pop Culture that once the couple heard this song they knew it was perfect for them to create a duet with.

“She was a pop singer and she put singing on hold and then we had the baby,” Brown told Pop Culture. “We’ve been talking about doing a song together and then we just heard this song come in that was perfect for us. I thought it was a beautifully written song. And so we’re just excited to get that up, kind of release it to the fans. I tell her that she’s my secret weapon.”

In May Brown teased that a duet is “in the works” and in late July, told Storme Warren of Sirius XM’s The Highway that the duet will be called “Mad At This World” and that his wife is his “secret weapon that I’m waiting to unleash” and that the song “immediately caught” his attention once he heard it.

“So usually, I’ll always just write my songs, but this was actually a pitch that I heard that immediately caught my ears and caught my attention,” Brown explained to Warren. “It’s kind of like another…it’s not ‘Worldwide Beautiful,’ but it’s basically a song calling out everything else that’s happened in 2020, from the tornados destroying Nashville, California getting hit by those fires, and all of that.”

He didn’t give fans a snippet of the track just yet but did say the overall theme of the song and gave a teaser of the lyrics.

“It’s basically saying, ‘how could I be mad at this world when this world gave me you?”

Brown however did not revealed all of the details, as the release date for the duet is still currently unknown.
