On Wednesday, May 12, CMT shared that country superstars Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini have been announced to co-host the upcoming awards show. This marks Brown’s second consecutive year co-hosting the coveted awards show. As the hitmaker previously co-hosted alongside Ashley McBryde and Sarah Hyland in 2020.

“I loved getting a chance to host the CMT Music Awards last year and I’m excited to be back this year with Kelsea,” Brown said. “The CMT Music Awards are special to me – it’s the first industry award I won and getting on that stage was an amazing feeling. I love that the fans get to have their voices heard as we celebrate the best in country music.”

“I’m so excited to be hosting the 2021 CMT Music Awards with Kane! The CMT Awards are so special because they are truly fan voted,” Ballerini added. “Following a year plus where we have not been able to be with the fans and share music together, will make this night even more special.”

CMT shared a Instagram reel on Wednesday to share the exciting news! In the video, dressed to impress, Brown and Ballerini revealed their co-hosting duties. “I had so much fun hosting the 2020 CMT Music Awards that I’m back to do it again! Only this time I got another KB joining me as cohost,” Brown gushed before Ballerini added, “I’m so excited to be joining you for the 2021 CMT Music Awards as hosts, we’re gonna be so much fun!”

In the clip, the co-hosts also revealed that they will be sharing nominations for the awards show on Thursday, May 13.
