Are Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini co-hosting the 2021 CMT Music Awards together?

Dressed to impress, the two country superstars were seen filming something together in Ballerini’s Instagram stories on Tuesday, May 11. In the clip, Ballerini appears in a sparkling green dress saying “oh, hey Kane [Brown]” in which he replies “hey.” She ended the clip with a quick wink, letting fans know that something is happening.

Although Ballerini didn’t elaborate on what they were filming together, fans are assuming that they are recording promotional clips for the upcoming event on June 9. The two-and-a-half hour awards show will feature “nonstop” performances in addition to one-of-a-kind collaborations in and around Nashville, Tennessee.

CMT further teased the idea by sharing Ballerini’s story to their twitter captioned with eyes and tagging the two hitmakers, which you can see below. No details have been revealed yet but CMT has replied to several fans with emoji’s that included a smirking face and an emoji shushing with a finger over its mouth.

If Brown returns as co-host to the CMT Music Awards, it will mark his second consecutive year co-hosting the coveted awards show. As the hitmaker previously co-hosted alongside Ashley McBryde and Sarah Hyland in 2020.

Additionally, Ballerini recently hosted a brief Instagram Live to celebrate her sixth No. 1 single “Hole In The Bottle” and during the live, she answered several fan questions, including one where a fan asked if she knew Brown. She quickly replied “of course I know Kane Brown,” before revealing that she recently wrote a song with him. However, the “Half Of My Hometown” singer didn’t clarify if the song was written for her, Brown or if it would be a duet that included both of them.

“We actually wrote a song recently, so that was fun, I wonder if that will ever see the light of day,” Ballerini said.

The 2021 CMT Music Awards will air on Wednesday, June 9th at 8p/7c on CMT.
