Jimmie Allen On Morgan Wallen: “Forgiveness is More Powerful Than Abandonment”

Jimmie Allen is speaking out following Morgan Wallen’s use of a racial slur that first surfaced in a video on TMZ earlier this week.

On Friday (Feb. 5), the “Freedom Was A Highway” singer shared a tweet that he wanted to take some time to collect his thoughts before speaking out on the topic.

“I take a few days to process before I reply or speak on anything, logical thoughts for me takes time.” Allen explained in a tweet.

Now, on Saturday (Feb. 6), Allen is sharing his thoughts on the situation and although the tweets didn’t mention Wallen, it’s evident that they are referencing him.

“Forgiveness is more powerful than abandonment.  Our job as humans is to help each other be the best version of themselves,” the singer said alongside a few emoji’s. Adding, “It’s not about what is easiest….it’s about what is right. In order to receive forgiveness, we must give forgiveness.”

“Accountability is very important..we all must be held accountable for our actions,” Allen added two hours after his initial Tweets. “Looking over my life and my mistakes I remember the consequences I had to face, but I also remember the people that didn’t give up me and were willing to help me DO better. Thankful for those people.”

Following Wallen’s use of the racial slur, country artists spoke out, he was removed from most country radio stationsstreaming playlists, deemed ineligible and to have no involvement at the upcoming ACM Awards, dropped from all CMA and CMT platforms, removed from the roster of his booking agency (WME) and even “indefinitely” suspended from his recording contract at Big Loud.
