It’s no secret that Jessie James Decker has a myriad of talents. She can sing, dance, and write songs, and she even has a clothing brand called Kittenish.
The country singer also loves to cook. The 34-year-old New York Times bestselling author of the cookbook, Just Feed Me: Simply Delicious Recipes from My Heart to Your Plate enjoys whipping up meals for her loved ones so much that she is often the host at Christmas parties.
And this year was no different.
In a recent interview with Music Mayhem, Decker opened up about her hosting duties at Christmastime, and shared her go-to holiday recipe that guests just can’t get enough of.
“I do this cranberry pull-apart bread with brie cheese and a brown sugar pecan kind of sauce over the top. So everyone looks forward to that,” Decker, who recently released a collaboration with Billy Currington called “I Still Love You,” shared. “…. On Christmas Day, I create this 10 to 12-course meal, and I come up with a whole menu of things I want to create for everyone to eat.”
“My whole family comes over, my parents, siblings, all the cousins, and everyone gets super excited and hyped up because they don’t know what it is. And they start bugging me going, ‘What is it?’ ‘What’s the appetizer?’ ‘What’s going to be the cocktail?’” the mom of three and wife to former Jets’ wide receiver Eric Decker continued. “So I love cooking, I love creating. I do have another cookbook coming out next fall, and I am so excited.”

Even though Decker is all about making and tasting delicious meals, she is also big on health and fitness. And, for her New Year’s resolution, she says she wants “To continue health and fitness.”
“Of course, I wanna work a little less – only agree to do the really important things that I’m passionate about, which is obviously my music and cooking and my fashion stuff,” she added. “But I think continuing to take really fun adventurous trips with the kids is something Eric and I talked about.”

Taking vacations with the kids will have to wait as Decker has a big schedule planned. She will return to New York City to take up the role of Powerball co-host as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest. This is the fourth year in a row that Decker has flown to the Big Apple for the annual event, and she says she still can’t believe she gets to be a part of it all.
“Oh my goodness. Every year that I get to do this, I just pinch myself,” Decker said of co-hosting alongside Seacrest and actress and producer Liza Koshy. “It’s the most iconic New Year’s Eve show. I mean, they’ve mentioned it. It was a part of a Friends episode. I cannot believe that I get to do this every year alongside Ryan Seacrest and now Liza [Koshy]. Just so exciting. I love that I get the job of making and sharing with someone that they are the first millionaire of the year. I mean, there’s nothing like it. You get to know these contestants and hear their stories and what it means to them. And being able to tell someone that their lives are going to be forever changed is just such an important job, and it’s so special, and just there’s so much positive energy in the air that I look forward to it.”
Along with marking another trip around the sun, fans can look for more from Decker in the coming months.
“More music. More music,” she promises. “And I’m really hoping that me and Billy [Currington]’s duet continues to take off. It is also an incredible start. My dream is for it to go to radio and become a number one smash and for [us] to be nominated for a Grammy. I’m just putting it out there into the universe first. That is my goal.”
Dick Clark New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest will air on Saturday, December 31, starting at 8 pm ET on ABC.
