Jessie James Decker is opening up about her experience participating on season 31 of Dancing With The Stars.
During a red-carpet interview with E! Insider at this year’s CMA Awards, the country singer admitted she doesn’t think she would compete on the show again if given the chance.
“I don’t think I would do [Dancing With The Stars] again, but I’ll watch it now all the time with the kids. The kids are completely hooked now, but no, that was a one-time thing for me,” she laughed.
Despite not wanting to participate on the show again, Decker said she had a memorable experience during the competition.
“I loved [dancing]. It was really hard. It was an experience I’ll never forget,” she shared.
Decker danced alongside professional Alan Bersten on season 31 of DWTS, according to Good Housekeeping. The pair was eliminated halfway through the season, the outlet indicated. Decker’s elimination drew the ire of fans on social media, as her score did not reflect the positive comments she received from the judges.
Decker, had a bit of a different reaction, however.
“If you would have told me September 2nd when I was asked to do this show that I would have made it this far I would have said… uhhh no way! This has tested me and challenged me in a diff way than anything in my career and I am SO proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone and did something that scared the shit out of me!,” the “I Still Love You” singer wrote in a statement she posted on Instagram.
She also praised her partner, Bersten, revealing she would miss him “most of all.”
“He is my family now and we all love him with all our hearts. He believed in me, pushed me when I felt I wasn’t good enough and made me feel like I could get out there [and] shine even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you Alan❤️ I love you so much and I am proud of what we did together!!!! I will see you soon and thanks to everyone who voted for us,” she continued, including a ❤️ emoji in the caption.
Decker closed out her message, writing it was “time to get back home to Tennessee to be with my babies and my love Eric,” adding, “they sure did miss their mama.”
Decker competed on season 31 of the popular reality dancing competition alongside actor and model Trevor Donovan, fellow singer Jordin Sparks, TikTok personality Charli D’Amelio and her mom Heidi D’Amelio, actress Selma Blair, and Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino among others, according to Us Magazine.
Decker’s journey on DWTS included dances such as the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Rumba, and Tango.
Aside from participating in the popular reality dancing competition, Decker released her latest song, “I Still Love You” with fellow country singer Billy Currington on Oct. 21. She was also looking forward to a Thanksgiving getaway with her husband, NFL player, Eric Decker and their three children, Vivianne, 8, Eric Jr., 7, and Forrest, 4.
“We’ve never [gone away for Thanksgiving] before, but it’s supposed to be really good,” Decker shared during the same interview, saying she and her family planned to hit the beach for the holiday.
Decker shared a photo of her three children on the beach in Mexico to Instagram on Nov. 26, captioning the photo, “Vacation Decker style💪🥥🌴.”
She will hit the road for a handful of tour dates with Kane Brown and Restless Road in Canada beginning on Dec. 8 and ending on Dec. 18.
