Lauren Alaina gave fans an update on the foot injury she sustained while competing on the CBS reality adventure show Beyond The Edge, sharing that she had a “severe bone contusion.”

Alaina shared more information about her injury with TC and Dina B of KISS Country 99.9 at Audacy’s Leading Ladies’ event earlier this month.

“I was in a boot. I didn’t walk right for like eight weeks,” Alaina told TC and Dina B. “It was a severe bone contusion, which is a really deep bone bruise. I couldn’t put any pressure on my feet for a while,” she added.

So how did Alaina cope during her recovery? By binge-watching a little TV.

I binge-watched The Office and Seinfeld,” Alaina explained. She also watched Criminal Minds, which she said is her “favorite show of all time.”

Criminal Minds is my favorite show of all time. I’m fascinated with Criminal Minds because it explains how a person gets to that point… The psychology behind it… And also I’m obsessed with [show star] Matthew Gubler,” she added.

Alaina was disqualified from competing on Beyond The Edge due to her foot injury. Alaina tripped and fell and realized she couldn’t move her toes, needing medical attention, after taking her shoe off.

Alaina had an X-ray of her foot taken, which revealed she had a torn ligament, prompting doctors to remove her from the competition as a safety precaution. Alaina, who had raised the most money for charity at that point in the competition, was devastated by her injury.

“I begged them to let me stay,” Alaina told Entertainment Tonight. “But actually, looking back, my foot was not well for a very long time. So it was the right call.”

Despite being so upset about her forced exit from the show, Alaina brought some humor to the situation, saying her competitors should be “glad” she got injured because she was “undefeated” and would’ve won in the end.

Alaina was among the list of star-studded celebrities who participated in the CBS show located in the Panama jungle. In addition to Alaina, country singer Craig Morgan, actress Jodie Sweetin, Bachelor star Colton Underwood and others also competed.

Alaina competed for Nashville-based charity, The Next Door, which supports women in crisis with “Christ-centered compassionate care.”
