Three-time GRAMMY Award winner Jelly Roll plans to give one of his three trophies to the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center in Nashville, hoping to inspire the youth there. Jelly Roll picked up three trophies at the 2026 GRAMMYs. The genre-bending superstar won Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken and took home Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Shaboozey for “Amen” and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song with Brandon Lake for “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”
As for where he’ll put his new hardware, Jelly Roll already has an idea, with his wife, Bunnie Xo, telling Entertainment Tonight backstage at the Grammys that Jelly Roll plans to give one of his Grammys to the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center in Nashville. “I know he’s going to give one to the Juvenile in Nashville to kind of give them a little inspiration and let them have a Grammy to themselves,” Bunnie Xo shared.
“That is my husband,” she said. “That’s what he does.”
The Dumb Blonde Podcast host also joked about what might happen to Jelly Roll’s other two trophies. “I don’t know what we’re going to do with the other two, but I’m getting one for sure,” she said. “I feel like I earned it.” She added, “Teamwork makes the dream work, baby,” before continuing to praise her husband, sharing that “he’s just, he’s so special.”
Jelly Roll was incarcerated at the Davidson County Juvenile Detention Center in Nashville as a teenager, and in the decades since, he’s become a staunch supporter of the institution, donating to the center and frequently visiting to engage with the youth and inspire them. In 2024, he opened a music studio at the center as a resource to the young people there.
The 41-year-old singer/songwriter chatted with Entertainment Tonight for his own interview after winning his Grammys, where he was asked if he’ll take his new trophies to set with him for the next round of Netflix’s Star Search reboot, on which Jelly Roll serves as a judge alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar and Chrissy Teigen.
“Listen, I would, but you got to remember, I’m with Chrissy Teigen and John Legend,” Jelly Roll said before referencing the fact that Legend has completed an EGOT, winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. “He’ll break out that EGOT on me, and I’ll have to go, ‘Well, thank you, Mr. Legend.’ No, no, of course. I’m taking ’em everywhere. This is the dream come true.”
Jelly Roll’s third Grammy win of the night was televised during the main show—his wins for his two duets happened during the premiere show. “I’ve already shed a lot of tears even before I got to the show when I won the first two,” he shared. “Even now, before I came in here, I went to the bathroom just to have a quick scream and another little quick cry so I can emotionally regulate a little bit before I came in and talked about it.”
In his acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country Album, Jelly Roll used his time on stage to discuss his relationship with God, explaining that while he was incarcerated, he relied on the small Bible he had, along with music, to see him through.
“A little bit of music and a little bit of God. I really believed that those two things could change my life. And truly did,” he told ET. “And it took a little longer than everybody else because I took the scenic route. That was all my fault, not God’s, but when I came around, so did he.”
