Blake Shelton and his wife Gwen Stefani are big fans of country music, and like many country music fans, they’re now big fans of Ella Langley.
Chatting with Audacy’s Rob + Holly for the Friday Night Takeover, Shelton opened up about life at home with his wife, Gwen Stefani, revealing that the two often listen to Langley while they’re working outdoors, specifically in the garden.
Stefani is an avid social media user, often sharing content with her husband, including the two of them at their Oklahoma ranch. “She puts all this stuff on social media; people see it, it’s the two of us doing it,” Shelton said of the beloved couple’s gardening passion. “We really love doing it. It’s fun to do together, and we’ll play music. We’ve lately, we’ve been playing a lot of Ella Langley out there planting the stuff and just really getting into it.”
The 49-year-old added that his ranch land initially wasn’t quite as full of flowers as it is now, but Stefani changed all that once she really got into it.
“Once she realized, ‘Wait a minute, we can just take your tractor and, like, mess up the dirt.’ Like I’m talking in Gwen language here, ‘mess up the dirt and then go back and put seeds there. Why can’t we do that with flowers?’” he recalled.
“I’m like, ‘well, we can, I guess, it’s not necessarily what I want to plant for deer,’ but, next thing you know, it’s like, I’m talking about we have easily 25, or 30 acres of just like these plots where it’s like zinnias and, hands and knees down, putting iris bulbs in the ground.”

Shelton recently put a tractor to a different kind of use when he drove one down the Las Vegas Strip to Caesars Palace in a new video announcing an extension of his residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. His new dates will run from May 6-24, which overlaps with this year’s ACM Awards on May 17. Shelton may get a chance to say hello to Langley, who will likely be at the show. The ACM Awards will be held just about a month after the release of her sophomore album, Dandelion, set for release on April 10.
Langley shared the title track of her new project on January 30, with the breezy song celebrating the independence and resilience of dandelions. That sentiment serves as the central message of the album, which the singer expanded on in a statement.
“Dandelions are masters of survival, thriving in even the harshest environments, often dismissed as a common weed. This unassuming plant carries a deeper symbolism of hope, healing, and resilience,” she explained.

Dandelion was executive produced by Langley alongside Miranda Lambert and Ben West, and Langley shared that she wanted the album to be “something that fans can relate to, but also something they want to get up and dance to at the same time.”
“To me, this record feels like fireflies in the summertime,” she said. “It feels like windows down on a red dirt road, It feels like the best kind of Sunday afternoon [and] It feels like those days I remember as a kid where it felt like there weren’t enough hours in the day. This record is really a love letter to that.”
Ella Langley will also take her new album on the road for her first-ever arena trek, The Dandelion Tour.
