Jason Aldean delivered a surprise, impromptu performance alongside country singer/songwriter Ricky Young at Tiki 52 Bar & Grill at Blowing Rocks Marina in Tequesta, Florida.
On Sunday, January 8, the country superstar joined Young on stage at Tiki 52 for an unplanned performance that had the unsuspecting bar patrons’ singing along.
“He was hanging with a bunch of mutual friends of me and my wife earlier in the day,” Young told Music Mayhem. “During the show, I had someone requesting songs on my right side. I felt a tap on my shoulder on my left side and I turned around and it was Jason [Aldean]. He said ‘hey man, let’s play some Brooks and Dunn or something.’ I was like ‘let’s do it.’ So there was a full moon that night just above the tiki bar so I said we gotta do ‘Neon Moon.’ So that’s what we played together.”
Beneath the glow of a full moon, Aldean and Young performed Brooks & Dunn’s iconic hit “Neon Moon.” Following their performance of the Brooks & Dunn tune, patrons at the tiki bar begged for another song, so, Young lent Aldean his acoustic guitar to perform one song on his own.

“At the end the entire crowd as asking for another song and I gave him my guitar to do one by himself,” Young added, before sharing that Aldean went on to perform John Mellencamp’s “Ain’t That America” for the packed bar.
“I’ve been drinking since like noon, so I’m going to be doing good to get through one song. So, Ricky you might need to help me out alright?” Aldean said as he sat on a yellow stool, wearing khaki pants and a white shirt that said “Key Biscayne,” which is the name of a town in Florida.
He then performed the Mellencamp hit, which prompted a sing-along with the bar patrons.

Young also told us how he and Aldean became friends in Nashville, which led to a long-lasting friendship, especially since Aldean and his wife Brittany Aldean bought a beach home in The Sunshine State.
“I met Jason several times in my previous 10 years in Nashville,” he explained. “When he and his family bought a beach house just north of us, we hung out several times and became friends. We went fishing together and he’s been to several gigs of mine.”
Since becoming friends, Aldean and Young have gone on several fishing trips together, including a recent trip, where they caught a massive sailfish.
“Spent most of the day trying to run around the storms but finally hooked into this dude and got him in the boat with my tag team partner @rickyyoungmusic, 🤜🏼🤛🏼” Aldean captioned a photo of himself, Young and another friend holding the huge fish.
“First sailfish was a good one 🤙🏼🇺🇸 And we didn’t get struck by lightning so I’d say it was a good day @jasonaldean 💯👊🏼” Young added.

Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany, purchased a brand-new beach house in Florida in February of 2022.
Florida is one of Jason’s favorite places and thinks of it as a second home, as he spent a lot of time growing up in both Georgia and Florida after his parents divorced when he was just a toddler.
“I grew up in Macon, I was born there and raised there with my mom, my parents divorced when I was three, my mom stayed in Macon and my dad lived in Florida,” Jason previously told Music Mayhem. “So I kind of grew up in both places and anytime it starts getting warm I like to be at the beach somewhere and it’s kind of my happy place. And so I’ll probably always have a house down there somewhere, it’s just kind of my favorite place to be.”
Jason and Brittany Aldean rang in the New Year at President Donald Trump’s lavish New Year’s Eve gala with the 45th President Of The United States at Mar-a-Lago in Florida for the second consecutive year.
