Jason Aldean revealed that he will not be attending the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

On Thursday, March 31, during an interview with Music Mayhem, the country superstar and Georgia native shared that despite being nominated for one of the coveted awards at the 2022 GRAMMYs, he will not be attending.

“I’m not going just simply for the fact that there are so many categories on that show that a lot of them aren’t even aired on TV,” Aldean told Music Mayhem after being asked if he will be in attendance at the upcoming awards ceremony. “They’ll kind of read them out before the show or whatever. And I could be wrong, but I don’t think they’re going to air that on TV, so I’m not going to go, but it was cool [to be nominated].”

While Aldean did admit that winning a GRAMMY has always been on his “bucket list,” he has yet to take home one of the awards, despite being nominated five times during his career.

“Obviously, those nominations are really hard to get,” Aldean shared. “And then on top of that, they’re even harder to win because it’s just, I don’t know, you’ll have somebody that’s maybe mainstream up against somebody that’s not, and sometimes the more underground [artist] will win. So it’s kind of all over the board a little bit.”

Aldean is hopeful to add a check to his bucket list with a win at this year’s ceremony, however also admits that you just “never know.”

“I feel like this song’s been a really big one for us this year and we got as good a shot as anybody so we’ll see what happens,” Aldean added.

The father of four also joked that “if it happens” this year, “Carrie [Underwood] must be the X Factor” and that she will have to “do another song on the next record” with him.

Aldean is up for one nomination at this year’s GRAMMY awards alongside Carrie Underwood. The country superstars are nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with their multi-week chart-topping single “If I Didn’t Love You.”

The “Trouble With A Heartbreak” singer won’t be attendance at this year’s event, however, his duet partner will be as Underwood is scheduled to perform during the show and is also nominated for Best Roots Gospel Album with her faith-based album, My Savior.

Jason Aldean Will Release Tenth Studio Album Later This Month

The country hitmaker is gearing up to release his tenth studio album, Macon, Georgia, which will be out later this month. Arriving on April 22, 2022, via BBR Music Group, the project will feature 30-tracks, including 10-live tracks and 20 new originals.

Additionally, Aldean will hit the road later this summer on his Rock ’n’ Roll Cowboy Tour. The trek, which features special guests Gabby Barrett, John Morgan and DeeJay Silver, kicks off on July 15 in Scranton, Pennsylvania and will hit 30+ cities before wrapping up in Wichita, Kansas.

Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 2022 GRAMMY Awards will take place live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will air on Sunday, April 3 via CBS Network at 8/7c.
