Jason Aldean responded to Zac Brown Band frontman Zac Brown’s challenge to a slap-fight.

During an interview with Audacy’s Rob + Holly earlier this month, Brown challenged Aldean to a slap-fight when he was talking about his love for MMA. He admitted that while he doesn’t want to do MMA necessarily, he does want to have a slap fight for a good cause and wants his first opponent to be Aldean.

When asked if he would ever take to a wrestling ring, Brown said, “I want to do slap fights! You just stand there and slap each other. I want to challenge Jason Aldean to a slap fight, and we’ll do it all for charity.”

Now, Aldean is responding. During a recent interview with the same outlet, Aldean laughed when Rob + Holly told him of Brown’s challenge.

“[What] the hell is a slap-fight, and how old are we? I’m confused,” Aldean said with a laugh. “This is all news to me.”

He continued, “Zac and I are friends, but I mean, I’m not going to let him or anybody else just stand there and slap the crap outta me. Nah, I’m good on that.”

The Georgia native also opened up about his tenth studio album during the discussion.

“With it being my tenth record, we wanted to do something that was different that we hadn’t done before,” Aldean said. “After ten albums, you gotta find different ways to get creative… We’ve never done a live record, we’ve never done a greatest hits record or anything like that so, to me, this is a double album, but it’s also kind of a live album, and it’s also kind of a greatest hits record… It’s kind of all in one.”

The just-released part one of his two part album features his multi-week chart topper, “If I Didn’t Love You,” “Small Town Small” and his viral cover of Bryan Adams’ “Heaven.”

“We cut 20 new tracks, and then we had 10 live tracks,” Aldean added. “Just kind of a way to incorporate all those things… [from] throughout my career.”

Aldean’s album, Macon, is available now everywhere.
