Earlier this year, Gabby Barrett and her husband Cade Foehner welcomed their first child. The couple welcomed their beautiful baby girl on January 18 and gave her a very unique name, Baylah May.

On Tuesday, April 26, Barrett explained to Bobby Bones on The Bobby Bones Show why they decided to name her Baylah May. The ACM New Female Artist Of The Year shared that they named their daughter after both of their sisters. Baylah comes from Foehner’s sister’s name, which they used as inspiration, eventually coming up with a spin off name that they both loved.

“Cade’s sister’s name is Bailey Blane and I was just kind of trying to spin off of that ’cause I like the name Bailey, but I wanted something that was a little more original,” Barrett explained. “I was in the airport just messing with it and I was like, ‘Bailey, Baylah,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, I like Baylah’ and I put it down in my notes.”

The chart-topping singer/songwriter went on to detail that her middle name comes from Barrett’s sister, Gypsy.

“My sister was born in the month of May and so we did Baylah May,” Barrett continued.

Additionally, Barrett recently returned to the stage for a performance of her second No. 1 hit “The Good Ones” during the 2021 ACM Awards, which you can watch HERE.

The singer is also set to appear on The Late Late Show With James Corden later this week on April 28.
