Kelly Clarkson admits Avery Roberson’s vocals are “pure country magic” following an impressive cover of Chris Young.

On Monday, April 26, Roberson stunned The Voice coaches with his cover of Young’s “Tomorrow,” earning his praise from all four Voice coaches including Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Nick Jonas and John Legend.

“What’s up Avery? Every time you get on stage, it seems like you’re a little more comfortable and you’re starting to just let your voice do what it does, which is really incredible,” Shelton said.

“Avery, this was your best performance yet,” Jonas gushed. “The emotional texture in your performance, the fact that you tied it to something that was real felt strong to me.”

“I feel like there’s another level to you that you’re holding back,” Legend added. “If you are able to convey it a little bit more passionately on stage, you’re going to be such an indomitable force.”

“Avery, I love that you like really intimate songs and there’s a lane for exactly what you are doing but I don’t think you know how good you are,” Clarkson said, praising his vocal abilities. “There’s like this untapped potential, you did a really beautiful job.”

Following Roberson’s performance on The Voice, Clarkson shared a tweet saying, “The tone of your voice is pure country magic @AveryRMusic!”
