Gabby Barrett shared the story behind her new single “Footprints On The Moon.”

In an interview with Music Mayhem, the award-winning country singer shared the meaning behind the fan-favorite track. The country superstar told Music Mayhem that the track is an encouraging song, that she wishes she had to listen to when she was younger. Barrett explained that the song brings an inspirational message that you can truly do whatever you want to if you just follow your dreams and never give up on them.

“I wanted to have a song on the album that was an encouraging song, just something that I would’ve like to have heard when I was in High School or whatever the case was,” Barrett previously shared of the track. “It’s just an encouraging song for people to go for their dreams and really reach for the sky because the sky is the limit.” Later adding, “Especially if there are footprints on the moon, literally, if somebody could walk on the moon which we never thought that would happen, you are able to work hard and achieve some great things here on Earth. So that is just an encouraging song that I wish [that] I had in High School when I was going through harder times, just really grinding it out and nobody really believed in me so I just hope it’s an encouraging song that people will gravitate towards.”

The track allows Barrett’s powerhouse vocals to vibrantly shine while sharing an inspirational message that you can do anything you want if you put your mind to and that everyone will always say you can’t, till you do, you just have to prove them wrong and keep powering through whatever it may be. The song also includes some stunning guitar solos from her husband, Cade Foehner.

Empowering fans on the motivational track, Barrett serves as the perfect example that “you can do anything, anything you want to.” Throughout the song, the Pennsylvania native reminds fans that there are “Footprints On The Moon,” and if you continue to follow your dreams, nothing is unreachable.

Additionally, the chart-topping superstar is gearing up to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of her record-breaking debut album, Goldmine, which her new single appears on, with an exclusive concert as part of the Country Now Live series on June 23 at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, Tennessee. Tickets for the show are now on-sale now or you can watch the for free via livestream on CTRL_MUSIC_, exclusively on Twitch.

Ahead of the album’s 1-year anniversary, Barrett shared the exciting news that she will be sending the fan-favorite track, “Footprints On The Moon,” to country radio as her new single. The song will impact country radio on June 28.

“Footprints On The Moon” was co-written by Barrett alongside Zach Kale & Jon Nite, the same trio of songwriters who wrote “I Hope.” The song follows Barrett’s two consecutive No. 1 hits, including “I Hope” and her latest “The Good Ones.”
