After debuting her successful full-length album, Goldmine, in 2020, Gabby Barrett is preparing for the release of her highly-anticipated sophomore album. And luckily for fans, she is already sharing some of the details they can expect to find when the collection arrives.

It turns out that Barrett, 23, will be teaming up with country superstar Miranda Lambert, 39, on one track, although she has not shared the title or details of that song just yet.

“It Will Be About Texas”

In an interview with Audacy’s Katie & Company, Barrett shared, “I wrote another song on the album that was written with Miranda Lambert. That’s very fun. And there are so many people in the Nashville community that I haven’t gotten to write with that I did this time around. So there’s just a lot to look forward to.”

“Miranda’s awesome. She’s just super laid back and just so chill and nice to be around and very real of a person, which is really nice to see in the industry, especially as a female being very real and not about the drama and the jealousy and this and that,” she added during a recent Q&A with fans on Instagram Live. “So, the song is more of a slower song, and it will be about Texas. That’s all I can say.”

Luke Combs Also Co-Wrote A Song On The Project

Lambert isn’t the only artist that Barrett will be collaborating with on her next album. She also shared that Luke Combs will have some level of involvement on the project.

Collaborations aside, Barrett previously teased one of her solo tunes that will be included in her project, titled “Glory Days.” The American Idol alum and mother of two played a snippet of the unreleased track on Instagram in a video that shows her getting makeup applied to her face ahead of the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards.

“Hi guys, I wanted to give you a little teaser of my new single that’ll be out next month called ‘Glory Days,’” Barrett says in the clip of the track, which was co-written with Emily Weisband, Seth Mosley, and James McNairdue.

Fans can look for that track to drop in June.

“Excited” To Release Her New Album

Of all of the tracks included on her next album, Barrett says, “I’m so excited. I have just been trying to be very intentional about these songs. I’m almost done with it, so that’s really exciting. Early fall is the game plan to get it released. Hopefully, we can even release some music before that.”

Of her previous album, which produced two No.1 hits — “I Hope” and “The Good Ones” — Barrett reflected on the recording process as she looks forward to releasing her next offering.

Goldmine, I’m so thankful for all the success that’s come with that,” she shared. “But I never got to go into a studio and see live instruments cut because of Covid. It was just, everything was over the phone. I recorded one of the vocals for that record on my iPhone.”

“It’s completely different now,” she continued. “Going in cutting, seeing live instruments, asking for things to be changed, or can we add this? Can we add that? So I’m very much more a part of it in a different way.”

Additionally, Gabby Barrett has signed on as a supporting act for the U.S. leg of Kane Brown’s Drunk or Dreaming Tour, which kicked off on March 16 and features additional openers Dustin Lynch and LoCash on select dates. The tour is scheduled to wrap up in Greenwood Village, CO, at Fiddler’s Green Amphitheatre on Saturday (June 10).
