Darius Rucker says he’s “thankful” that America’s Got Talent finalists’ Chapel Hart said “yes” to a duet and revealed the track’s title and release date.

Rucker is set to release new music with his upcoming single “Ol’ Church Hymn” coming out Friday, September 30 featuring the rising trio Chapel Hart.

The gospel-inspired love song was written by Rucker himself along with Ben Hayslip, Josh Miller and Greylan James. The duet will be featured on Rucker’s forthcoming album, which will be his first solo album since his 2017 release of When Was the Last Time. The Grammy Award-winner will put his rich baritone vocals on display as Chapel Hart’s three-part harmony joins him in the chorus of the song.

“You soothe my soul like an ol’ church hymn / Found in a book in the back of a pew / Born again love I’m a new person / Hand in the air hallelujah / Amen, Amen, Amen / Amen, Amen, Amen / You soothe my soul like an ol’ church hymn,” the country superstar and fast-rising trio will sing on the chorus.

The South Carolina native knew Chapel Hart was the right fit for the song.

“Like so many people, I was blown away when I saw Chapel Hart’s original response to ‘Jolene,’” notes Rucker. “I was recording ‘Ol’ Church Hymn’ at the time and instantly had this vision of it becoming a duet once I heard their voices. I’m so thankful they said yes to singing on it with me, and I can’t wait to see the huge career they’re going to have.”

Chapel Hart’s Devynn Hart shared, “He really took a chance on us… He saw some of our stuff online and he was like ‘I love what you ladies are doing. I have an idea and I want to hear you guys on this song.’”

Last week, America’s Got Talent (AGT) viewers got a taste of the country stars joining forces during their collaborative performance of the Bonnie Raitt hit “Something To Talk About” on the show’s season finale. The Mississippi trio blew the crowd away, standing out in their gold and black western attire and blending a perfect harmony with Rucker. Chapel Hart finished 5th on the 17th season of America’s Got Talent.

“Let’s give them something to talk about / Let’s give them something to talk about / Let’s give them something to talk about / How about love?” they sang together.

The country trio, made up of sisters Danica and Devynn Hart and their cousin, Trea Swi made their Opry debut on Saturday (Sept. 17) following big acts like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Darius Rucker.

“Sure, we were having success before America’s Got Talent, but we’re realizing now that to achieve the much greater success that we want, expanding the reach of the joy and love our music brings is necessary,” Devynn tells The Tennessean. “I’ll never get tired of seeing the process of winning over greater numbers of fans in larger groups keep happening.”

Fans can see Rucker perform on October 8 and 9 in his hometown of Charleston, S.C for the Riverfront Revival Festival along with Brothers Osborne, SUSTO, Jimmie Allen, Charley Crockett and more on the lineup. Limited tickets remain available for purchase at RiverfrontRevival.com.
