Cole Swindell scored his 13th No. 1 hit at Country radio with “Forever To Me,” a deeply personal track that he co-wrote alongside Greylan James and Rocky Block. The song draws inspiration from Cole Swindell’s real-life love story with his wife, Courtney, whom he married on June 12, 2024, in Sonoma, California. The couple is also preparing to welcome their first child, a baby girl.

The country superstar and multi-Platinum-selling hitmaker shared his reaction to the exciting news via a statement in a press release. “Anytime you get to celebrate a No. 1 song, it’s always special for so many reasons,” Swindell shared. “Over the years, I’ve found the main reason for me is getting to share it with all the folks that make it possible. A huge thank you to Country Radio for supporting me through the years, and especially for the love on a song that means so much to me and my wife.”
Swindell also recalled writing the song with James and Block and how the tune was inspired by his wife, Courtney Little Swindell. “I’m thankful to have written this one with my buddies Greylan James & Rocky Block on a last minute trip to Texas for the National Championship in early 2024,” the chart-topping country crooner continued. “We didn’t really set out to write our wedding song, but I remember them asking me about Courtney and me simply saying, ‘she’s forever to me.’ As soon as I said that, we knew that was what we had to write and the rest is history!”
Swindell added, “So thankful for Jordan Schmidt and Greylan co-producing it and spending the time to make sure it was perfect. We wouldn’t be celebrating this achievement without my amazing team at Warner Music Nashville and the promo team that works so hard to make sure my songs are heard. The fact that I still get to do this 13 No. 1’s later still blows my mind, and I’m forever grateful.”
Cole Swindell has earned 13 No. 1 hits as an artist and 14 as a songwriter, including 11 chart-toppers as a solo artist and three writing credits for hits by friends Thomas Rhett (“Get Me Some of That”), Luke Bryan (“Roller Coaster”), and Florida Georgia Line (“This Is How We Roll”).
New Album, Spanish Moss
“Forever To Me” will appear on Cole Swindell’s upcoming fifth studio album, Spanish Moss, which is expected to arrive on June 27 via Warner Music Nashville. The project will feature 21 tracks, including the previously released songs “Kill A Prayer,” “Spanish Moss,” “We Can Always Move On,” “One Day” and more.
“Spanish Moss has been a work in progress for over 2 years now,” Swindell said of his upcoming project. “I knew it would be a tough task following up Stereotype and the success we had from that album, but sometimes a challenge can be motivating and exactly what’s needed to grow. For me, the album making process has always had a common theme… best song wins. Although it’s never that simple.”
Swindell added, “Life has changed a lot for me in the best way since the last project, and I wanted to be able to write and sing about those blessings while also not forgetting where I came from and the pain from the past. One of the beautiful things about music is even though you may not be currently going through something at this very moment, more than likely someone out there IS. I think this album is balanced that way and has a little bit of everything from songs like: ‘Kill A Prayer,’ ‘Dirty Dancing,’ ‘Forever to Me’ to ‘Dale Jr.,’ ‘Country Boy Can’t Survive,’ and ‘Heads Up Heaven.’”

The title track of the project holds a special meaning to Swindell, as it reminds him of his late father, William Keith Swindell. “The day we wrote the song ‘Spanish Moss’ I could tell we had something special and different for me, and I even thought to myself then ‘Spanish Moss could be such a cool album title’ considering it holds a special place in my heart and reminds me of where my Dad lived when I was growing up,” Swindell detailed. “From working with songwriters and producers I had never worked with to going back to the drawing board more times than I care to mention, I think having that patience and taking those chances really made this project what it was always meant to be and unlike anything I’ve ever done. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the entire album from top to bottom, and I truly hope they can find a little of themselves and their own stories somewhere along the way in Spanish Moss.”
