The song’s poignant lyrics detail the couple’s romance, down to the moment that Swindell asked Little’s dad permission to marry to her, and he popped the question and gave her a diamond engagement ring.

“You ever seen a prayer in person/ kind of thing that makes you believe/ all the waiting round was worth it/ One of them meant to be/ Mine showed up out of nowhere/ in just a t-shirt and some jeans, and I knew right then, right there/ she looked like forever to me/ She gave 18 summers to Carolina/ Spent a few more wild and free/ Gave a long shot chance to a Georgia boy in Tennessee/ I gave a promise to her daddy/ and a grass stain to my knee/ I might’ve gave her the diamond, but she gave forever to me,” Swindell sings in the snippet.

How Did Swindell And Little Meet?

Courtney Little, who co-owns The Little Sisters Boutique, boasts a background as a former NBA dancer and held the title of 2017 Miss Teen North Carolina. Swindell and Little have been in a relationship for an extended period, and avid fans might recognize her from her appearance in his music video for “Some Habits,” released in the fall of 2021.

The Georgia native previously opened up about their relationship and revealed how they met during an interview on The Bobby Bones Show. “We met several years ago, actually. You know, I’m a big NASCAR fan, and she works with Monster and you know we just kind of met and exchanged numbers and kept in touch over the years, but it never was anything just kind of friends, randomly saw her here and there, but the video kind of changed everything,” Swindell shared at the time.

He later explained that he was the one to actually cast her in the clip and that the video shoot was technically their first date. Luckily for Swindell, Little was up for it and took on the role of his love interest in the video for “Some Habits.”

“That was the first time we really got to spend more than 10 minutes together and hung out. Yeah, so kind of like a first date,” he said.

The couple made their red carpet debut at the 56th Annual CMA Awards and after turning heads during their arrival, Swindell talked to Taste Of Country Nights about bring Little along. “I’m excited, this is our first one together,” Swindell explained. “I can’t imagine a better first one for her to see.”

“Heads Up Heaven”

This isn’t the first song he teased from his forthcoming new album. In November 2023, Swindell teased another unreleased song, titled “Heads Up Heaven,” during his show in Rome, Georgia, as part of his Twelve Tour. The emotional track, which serves as a tribute to his late mother, Betty Carol Rainey (who passed away in September 2021), was written by Swindell with Chase McGill and Bobby Pinson and acts as a “heads up” to higher powers about what to expect when Swindell’s mom arrives.

“She’s always wanted to meet you face to face,” the song concludes, “Heads up heaven, there’s a good one headed your way.” Swindell first performed the song for the first time during his performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in November 2022 on his Back Down To The Bar Tour, which he referenced before singing the song again over the weekend. “I played this literally a year ago at the Ryman for the first time, I don’t know how I got through it then, either,” he shared with the audience at his recent show. “[I] lost my mom a couple years ago, and I know I’m not the only one in here that’s probably been through that.”

New Song, “3 Feet Tall

Swindell shared the first taste of what’s to come on his yet-to-be announced fifth studio album with the release of his emotional new song, “3 Feet Tall.” Written by Trey Lewis, Trannie Anderson, and Jordan Walker, “3 Feet Tall” is a song that reflects on the childhood struggles of growing up in a broken home. “3 Feet Tall” begins with an emotional portrayal of a family’s separation, before the lyrics vividly capture the heartache of a child witnessing their parent’s breakup.

“We took a ride up a golden elevator/ They both cried as they signed a stack of papers/ Mom got the car, Dad got the truck/ I got a Happy Meal and a baseball/ I didn’t get it ’til we got home and all his stuff was in a U-Haul,” Swindell sings on the opening verse of the Song Of The Year-worthy track, which will certainly go down in Country music history as one of the best storytelling tunes. “He pushed me for a while in the swing/ Kissed my head and said, ‘See you next week’”

The chorus then details the confusing thoughts that a child experiences when caught in the midst of their parents’ separation, while also detailing the internal struggle and self-blame that often accompanies the unfortunate situation.

“There’s a lot I don’t remember, but that cryin’ down the hall/ Had a way of makin’ me wonder maybe it was all my fault/ I got stuck in the middle of weekends and holidays/ And my suitcase was too little to carry all that weight/ I might not have understood it all/ But, not everythin’ goes over your head even when you’re three feet tall.”

Forthcoming New Album

“3 Feet Tall” marks the first track from his forthcoming fifth studio album, which follows the release of 2022’s Stereotype.

“I can’t believe the 1st song from Album 5 is finally out. Songs like these are why I fell in love with Country Music in the first place,” Swindell wrote on social media. “For all of you out there that have lived it in any way, I’m here for you. I’ve been there too. Music is so powerful, and I feel like this song is just special. I hope it hits a few of you out there like it does me. Love y’all.”

Cole Swindell’s Win The Night Tour

Additionally, Cole Swindell will soon embark on his headlining Win The Night Tour, featuring support from Dylan Scott, Jon Langston, Lily Rose, MacKenzie Carpenter, Meghan Patrick and Restless Road on select dates. The U.S. and Canadian trek kicks off on May 16 in London, ON and continues through July 20, where the tour will wrap up in Bonner, MT.
