Ashlyn Greene may not be a household name yet, but the talented 15-year-old rising country artist is making some big noise with the release of her brand new and cleverly written self-penned track called “Mr. Wallen,” which she co-wrote alongside Timothy Comeaux, Greyson Campbell and Trace Thompson.
Ashlyn Greene Pens Letter To Morgan Wallen With New Song “Mr. Wallen”
An ode to Morgan Wallen, “Mr. Wallen” finds Greene fanning over the East Tennessee native as a fellow country artist who connects deeply to his music. Through her lyrics, Greene reveals that she, too, is living the musician lifestyle but hopes that somehow her song will reach the country superstar himself.
“Been paying my dues / every chance I get / From old bar stools / To nights I’ll never forget / Hearing everyone sing along / To my hometown, heartfelt songs / Under a string of lights or a summer sky / Taking it all one thing at time / Guess I’m doing alright, I sure love this life, but every night when I close my eyes,” Greene sings throughout the second verse before segueing into the chorus. “I’m chasing you / Livin’ the dream / Driving back and forth to Tennessee / (I know) You ain’t thinkin’ bout me / But I know every word from A to “If I Know Me” / One track mind & a two-tone truck / Singing my songs and with some luck / You’ll get my number and come callin’ / Hope you’re listenin’, Mr. Wallen.”
Song Pays Tribute To Country Superstar Morgan Wallen
As an avid fan of Morgan Wallen — who has been a huge inspiration to her — Ashlyn Greene’s song serves as a heartfelt love letter to the 31-year-old East Tennessee native for shaping the next generation of country stars with his influence.
“’Mr. Wallen’ is absolutely a letter in the form of a song. I wanted Morgan Wallen to know how much he means to so many of us. As a young country artist, I look up to him—not just for his music, but for how real and relatable he is,” Greene told Music Mayhem in a recent interview. “His sound, his lyrics, and his whole vibe—it’s like he’s shaping the next generation of country music. He’s not just inspiring fans; he’s molding the future of the genre.”

Wallen has achieved nearly 20 No. 1 singles on country radio, released three (soon to be four) highly ambitious albums, broke numerous records, and has collected several awards. But, during his fame, he has also faced a string of controversies and setbacks. Greene hopes her song will remind listeners that despite Wallen’s setbacks, his music continues to change lives — including hers — in positive ways.
“I felt like he wasn’t getting the respect he deserved,” Greene shared why she decided to pen a tribute to the heavy hitter. “I wanted to give something back to an artist who has given me so much through his music. His songs didn’t just help me through some tough times—they also played a big part in shaping my own sound and my journey as an artist. This was my way of saying thank you and showing what kind of impact music can have.”
Namechecks 11 Of Morgan Wallen’s Songs On The Track
Attentive listeners will recognize some of Greene’s lyrics as she namechecks a handful of Wallen’s tracks throughout her song — 11 to be exact. Some of those titles include “Tennessee Fan,” “Lies, Lies, Lies,” and “One Thing At A Time.”
“I wanted to pay homage to his work by embedding these subtle nods throughout the lyrics. It’s my way of honoring an artist who’s had such a profound influence on me,” Greene said of incorporating those titles into the track before adding, “I just adore Morgan Wallen—he’s like my total idol! His music always puts me in the best mood. Whether I’m feeling happy, sad, or anything in between, there’s a song of his that just gets me. His lyrics are so real and relatable, it’s like he’s singing about my life. I can’t imagine a day without listening to his songs—they’re just that amazing!”
As for her favorite track of Wallen’s, Greene says she is drawn to “Heartless” — a collaboration between Wallen and Diplo’s country-inspired alias Thomas Wesley.
“It just hits differently. The raw emotion in the lyrics and his delivery resonates with me,” Greene explains. “It’s one of those tracks that you feel deep down.”
Greene Hopes Wallen Will Hear The Song And Has Dreams To Share The Stage With Him
At the end of “Mr. Wallen,” Greene calls on the hitmaker to join her onstage for a shared duet. She doesn’t plead, but rather invites Wallen with no expiration date, singing: “If you ever wanna share the stage, honey, all you gotta do is look my way.”
“I’m not sure if Morgan Wallen has heard “Mr. Wallen” yet, but I do know that people close to him have viewed my Instagram stories,” Greene says with enthusiasm. “I’m hopeful this might spark his interest and lead him to listen to the song. It would mean the world to me to know that he’s heard it.”

If Morgan Wallen heard Greene’s song that pays homage to him, she admits that she would “probably cry with excitement!” Later adding, “It would mean so much to know he took the time to listen to ‘Mr. Wallen.’ I’d love to hear his thoughts on the song and, if the opportunity ever arose, share the stage with him. We both have powerful, soulful vocals, and singing together would be a dream come true. A girl can dream!”
Although Wallen hasn’t heard the song yet, it’s already connecting with his fan base and has begun receiving airplay in North Carolina and Nashville, debuting on 96.9 The Kat and B93.9 Country as well as Radio SoBro, respectively.
