Country music star Cody Johnson isn’t showing any signs of slowing down in the near future. In fact, Johnson teased that he is preparing for three new projects in a row.

During an interview with The Nash News at Country Jam USA in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the Texas native spoke on this exciting news, adding that one of the albums has already made some headway in the production process.

“So we just released ‘Human,’ the title track [of my Double Album] and it’ll be going out for adds [at Country Radio] pretty soon. I just got through recording a live album, we recorded six shows and put it together.”

The new music doesn’t stop there though. In one month, Johnson will return to the studio and keep the momentum going.

“I go back next month to record a new project and as soon as that project is done, I’m going back to record another project that I’ve got lined up.”

The Three New Albums Will Follow His Latest Project Human: The Double Album

These three unreleased full projects will include a live album, concept album, and new studio album. They will follow his double album, Human, which features Johnson’s chart-topping hit “‘Til You Can’t.”

“If you got a chance, take it, take it while you got a chance/If you got a dream, chase it, ’cause a dream won’t chase you back/If you’re gonna love somebody/Hold ’em as long and as strong and as close as you can/’Til you can’t,” he sings in the inspiring chorus that has captured the heart of so many country music fans.

Between his headlining tour and the work that goes into creating all this new music, Johnson had to find a way to avoid the dreaded burnout that so many artists face. In order to do this, he decided to only play 75 shows this year and make more time to relax at home with his family.

“I’ve had the kind of year where I get to go work really hard and I get the little break. Then I get to work really hard and I get a little break,” he previously told Country Now and other outlets. “I have the room to breathe and go, I want to be creative. And I can do that from home a lot of times.”

As a result of the downtime he allowed himself to have following his busy stint of 135 shows in 2021, Johnson found that the creativity started to flow. He has used that creativity to collaborate with other artists as well. On July 15, Zac Brown Band dropped a new version of their song “Wild Palomino.” This time around, they brought Johnson in the studio to be featured on the revamped version.

“Cowboys and love songs, that’s country music right there,” the band said on social media.

Johnson is currently on the road for his headlining tour, Cody Johnson & Friends. With newly added dates these shows will continue through the fall and feature several opening acts including Easton Corbin, Drew Parker, and Jordan Rowe.

This weekend, Johnson will take the stage of the North Dakota State Fair before heading to Nashville, TN for a sold-out show on July 28.
