Young revealed in an interview with Sony Music Nashville, that Reba McEntire heavily influenced everything from his stage show, his singing, and much more. “A female artist that has definitely influenced me from perspective of stage show, vocalist, performance, and just how much she has accomplished in her career that I look up to is Reba McEntire,” Young shared of McEntire’s inspiration.

The “Famous Friends” singer admitted if there was a Mount Rushmore of country music, she would certainly be apart of it as there are “a whole lot of reasons why she should be on there.”

He also shared “she’s just a fantastic person, fantastic artist, and like I said, look to her for sure.”

Later revealing that another woman in music that has made a profound impact of Young, especially noted from a songwriting perspective is Liz Rose.

“I got a chance to meet her really early on in my career and obviously she’s had so many hits , so many hits,” Young said. “But just being in a room with her, being able to learn from her, I feel incredibly lucky to have that opportunity and to have someone that’s that adept at songwriting help me learn and help guide me as a songwriter and an artist.”

Additionally, Young is set to debut the music video for he and Kane Brown’s collaborative single “Famous Friends” in the coming weeks.
