Carrie Underwood surprised students at a Tennessee school on Friday (Feb. 11).
The country superstar shocked the third and fourth grade of The Covenant School, a school founded in 2001 as a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Nashville.
The private school took to social media on Friday afternoon to share photos of the “Cry Pretty” singer’s surprise visit.
In the series of photos shared by The Covenant Knights, Underwood is seen posing with the students, who were all dressed up in costumes to appear as famous country singers, including Underwood, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Loretta Lynn, and more. The hardworking students, were hosting a country music musical on their auditorium stage, which they decorated to look like a makeshift Grand Ole Opry.
“When Carrie Underwood shows up to watch the 3rd and 4th grade musical about the Grand Ole Opry… it’s a REALLY good day,” the school wrote on Instagram. “Especially if you were the little girl who just played her on stage! Carrie even stayed to post for pictures and sign autographs. We could not have asked for a better surprise for our hardworking students!”
The Oklahoma native recently earned four ACM Awards nominations, including Entertainer Of The Year, Single Of The Year (“If I Didn’t Love You”), Video Of The Year (“If I Didn’t Love You”), and Music Event Of The Year (“If I Didn’t Love You”).
In December 2021, the chart-topping country hitmaker kicked off her highly-anticipated Las Vegas residency, dubbed REFLECTION: The Las Vegas Residency, at the brand-new Resorts Theatre on the Vegas strip.

“It’s such a special honor to be the first artist to perform on this incredible stage in a brand new, beautiful, state-of-the-art theatre at such an exciting new destination as Resorts World Las Vegas,” Underwood previously shared. “I’m so proud of this show and so happy to finally get to share it with the amazing audiences here in Las Vegas.”
REFLECTION: The Las Vegas residency celebrates Underwood’s career and found Underwood performing some of her greatest hits, including “Cowboy Casanova,” “Dirty Laundry,” “Blown Away,” “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” “Church Bells,” among many others.
“The show title refers to the fact that this show will reflect the amazing journey I’ve been on for the past 16 years, as well as a glimpse into what lies ahead,” Underwood shared.
Underwood returns to the Vegas stage on March 23, 25, 26, 30; April 1 and 2; May 11, 13, 14, 18, 20 and 21.
