Longtime Friends And Mutual Respect For Each Other

Underwood and Lambert have been friends for years and have even collaborated together, releasing the song “Somethin’ Bad” on Lambert’s 2014 album Platinum. Over the summer, Underwood praised Lambert on her SiriusXM channel, Carrie’s Country, before the channel played “Somethin’ Bad.”

“I have so much respect for [Miranda] and the things that she’s accomplished, the songs she writes, the songs she chooses. We’re sisters in this together, man,” Underwood said. “I hope she knows I’m always in her corner; I think she is always in mine. I’m proud to see us still kickin’ it after all these years.”

Underwood continued, “I love her and I really respect that she is who she is and has never deviated from that, and she’s never tried to fit anybody else’s box that they might try to put her in. She does what she wants. I respect that very much.”

Often Showcase Support For One Another On Social Media

Underwood recently showcased her support for Lambert by posting to social media and raving over her first-ever book, Y’ALL EAT YET? Welcome to the Pretty B*tchin’ Kitchen. “Look what I just got! My tummy is excited!” Underwood wrote of the gift she received from Lambert, “Thanks, @mirandalambert, and congrats!!!”

Lambert has also publicly praised Underwood, gushing over her friend on social media in 2019 when Underwood was nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the CMA Awards.

“Carrie – The Entertainer Of The Year. Because… Currently being on tour with all female artists, I’ve been thinking a lot about all the work that goes into what we do,” Lambert captioned a pair of photos of herself and Underwood performing. “The most amazing job in the world. But it ain’t for the faint of heart”

Lambert noted that Underwood released her first single in 2005, “and from then on country music was changed for good.”

“That iconic voice has been classin’ up our stages, charts and televisions for a decade and a half,” she wrote. “The Voice. The legs. The songs. The brand. The mom. The wife. The okie. The Jesus lover. The blonde bombshell that is Carrie. She blows me away every time I hear her sing [and] she never wavers in who she is or what she stands for. She has stayed true & pushed herself to be better.”

“If you have never heard her sing ‘How Great Thou Art’ do yourself a favor and listen,” Lambert concluded. “I have her back in this picture, and I’ll always have her back. So for the sake of sequins, spanx and spray tans, take it home! You Carrie the torch!”
