Carly Pearce’s new song earned her a roaring standing ovation and the song’s lyrics detail all that her ex-boyfriend “Didn’t Do.”

Pearce live debuted the brand new unreleased song called “What He Didn’t Do” during her concert at The Listening Room in Nashville on Saturday (Jan. 2) and it had fans sharing their excitement for it’s release all over social media after one fan shared a clip of the track.

In the song she sings, “Everybody’s asking what the hell happened / wondering why it all went wrong / mama always said if you can’t say something nice then don’t say anything at all / I’ve got my side of the story and he’s got his side too / I ain’t gonna go and tell you what he did but i’m gonna tell you what he didn’t do.”

The “Next Girl” singer continues to sing as she details all that he “didn’t do” for her during their relationship.

“Treat me right, put me first / Be a man of his words, stay home because he wanted to / Always fight for me love, hold on tight like it’s something that he couldn’t stand to lose / The devil’s in the details, I won’t tell the hell that he put me through / All I know is in the end it wasn’t what he did / No, it was what he didn’t do,” Pearce sings in the new song.

And although Pearce didn’t air her ex-boyfriend’s “dirty laundry” within the song. The singer sings she will be taking the “highroad even though we both know I could run him out of this town / It’s just dirty laundry, I don’t need to air his truths.”

“Didn’t Do” was co-written by Pearce alongside Emily Shackelton and Ashley Gorley.

Watch the performance of the new song that’s destined to be a hit below.

Emily Shackleton and Phil Barton joined Pearce during her Sold Out Listening Room concert.

In June of 2020, Pearce and country singer Michael Ray announced their divorce, after eight months of marriage.
