Toby Keith has canceled all of his upcoming concerts after publicly revealing his stomach cancer diagnosis on Sunday (June 12).
The country superstar’s team confirmed the news to Taste Of Country.
Keith previously had more than a dozen tour dates listed on his website. All of the dates have since been removed, including his headlining spot on Rib Fest.
The Oklahoma native, 60, shared the news of his diagnosis with fans via social media.
“Last fall I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery. So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,” the “Should’ve Been A Cowboy” singer wrote.
He added, “I am looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait.”
Keith’s post received thousands of comments, with fans and fellow artists wishing him a speedy recovery.
“Damn bro. Hate ur dealing with that, but if anybody can kick Cancer’s ass, it’s you. Prayin for ya big man,” Jason Aldean shared, while RaeLynn wrote, “Praying for a full healing in your body!!”
Prior to sharing the unfortunate news with fans, Keith hosted the 18th Annual Toby Keith and Friends Golf Classic, raising more than $1,380,000 for OK Kids Korral, the cost-free home for families of children being at The Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center.
Since its inception, the event has raised more than $16 million for the organization.
In 2021, Toby Keith released his 19th studio album, Peso In My Pocket. The project includes the fan-favorite track, “Old School,” as well as his brand-new radio single, “Oklahoma Breakdown.”
