Noah Thompson, Season 20 winner of American Idol, made his CMA Fest debut during the 49th edition of the annual country music festival in Nashville, Tennessee.

On Thursday (June 9), GRAMMY-nominated country singer Jimmie Allen, who served as a mentor on the latest season of Idol, surprised fans at the Riverfront when he gave Thompson the mic to sing his debut single, “One Day Tonight.”

Following his performance, Thompson took to social media to humbly recall the experience.

“I can’t believe I just got to go on stage at @cma with @jimmieallen and his band,” Thompson wrote after the performance. ”I’m feeling so blessed. Honestly, what is this life?”

Thompson also joined Chayce Beckham to perform Beckham’s debut single, “23,” on Friday (June 10).

“@noahthompson knew all the words to 23 so I invited him to join me on stage!” Beckham shared.

After sharing the stage with Beckham, Thompson admitted that “singing 23 with [Beckham] was a dream come true!”

“Thanks @chaycebeckhammusic for bringing @huntergirlmusic and I out for your show man!” Thompson said.

Throughout CMA Fest weekend, the 20-year-old also hosted meet and greet opportunities at Fan Fair X in Music City Center at several different booths.

In addition to meeting fans and sharing the stage with Allen, Booth and Beckham, Thompson also met Idol alum Grace Leer and several country stars such as Lainey Wilson, Lindsey Ell, and more.

The news comes after Thompson and HunterGirl reunited at The Bluebird Cafe earlier this week.

While there, Thompson performed an acoustic rendition of his debut single, “One Day Tonight,” during a writer’s round that featured Lady A’s Charles Kelley as well as Emily Weisband, Steven Lee Olsen and Jimmy Robbins, who produced his debut single.

On Wednesday (June 8), the Kentucky native took to social media to share a photo from the evening as well as a clip of him performing the tune.

“Honored to sit on a stage and sing #onedaytonight with these legendary people at the famous @bluebirdcafetn,” Thompson wrote.

The performance marked Thompson’s live debut at the historic Music City venue.

Co-written by Jared Griffin, Trannie Anderson, and Brett Sheroky and produced by Jimmy Robbins, “One Day Tonight” showcases Thompson’s signature raspy vocals alongside pop/country vocals.

“I fell in love with ‘One Day Tonight’ as soon as I heard it, just by the sound of the melody,” Thompson previously shared. “The lyrics are beautiful, the song has so much meaning and it is also so catchy! Can’t believe I get to sing it, to be honest, it blows my mind. I hope so many people love it just like I did when I first heard it!”

“One Day Tonight” finds the former construction worker singing about his lover and how she dreams about their future together while sipping on wine.

“She wants a wedding in September/ Save up all winter/ Spend our summers in a fix ‘er upper in Denver/ She wants a girl and a boy/ And a old dog named Ole Roy Lord I hope this old boy can give her that life/ So go on girl/ Pour a glass of wine/ And dream aloud, talk about/ One day tonight,” he sings on the chorus.

Noah Thompson performed the song on the American Idol finale where he was crowned the winner of Season 20.
