Over the weekend, in the midst of three consecutive sold-out concerts in Southaven, Mississippi, the country hitmaker made a stop at Walmart in neighboring Memphis, Tennessee to adopt 200 angels from The Salvation Army of Memphis & the Mid-South Angel Tree program.

After several hours of shopping, Wallen, his team and his bandmate’s Mark Taco Annino, Luke Cowboy RiceTyler Tomlinson, Dominic Frost, Tony Aichele, and Chris Gladden were able to fill 32 shopping carts with toys, bicycles, clothes and more, totaling over $20,000, according to a press release.

Wallen says the spirit of giving was instilled in him as a young boy and hopes to make this a yearly holiday tradition.

“For me growing up, my parents, they always made sure that I had presents under the tree. I know that all kids are not as fortunate to have that same experience,” Wallen shared in a press statement.

The East Tennessee native continued, “I got to partner up with The Salvation Army and Walmart to make a whole lot of kids happy this Christmas… I hope we get to do it again next year.”

Following Wallen’s generosity, which will make kids smile on Christmas, spokesperson for the Salvation Army of Memphis & the Mid-South, Nina Harrelson, shared, “because of Wallen’s generosity, parents struggling this year with job loss, homelessness and the impact of the ongoing pandemic will be able to go to sleep on Christmas Eve knowing their children will wake up to gifts under the tree.”

🤍 Our sincerest thanks to Morgan Wallen for his recent $20,000 donation to our #AngelTree program! 🤍The award-winning country singer and his team spent hours inside the Walmart on Winchester Road Sunday after adopting 200 angels – checking each item off their wish lists and filling 32 shopping carts with toys and clothes for Mid-South children in need.Wallen made the stop in Memphis last weekend in between his three shows at the Landers Center in Southaven.“For me growing up, my parents, they always made sure that I had presents under the tree. The Angel Tree program is a long-standing holiday tradition that provides toys and clothing to children, seniors and families who are struggling to make ends meet at Christmastime.

With the events of 2020 and 2021, more families than ever are in need of support and assistance this time of year.

The donation comes after Wallen’s sophomore project, Dangerous: The Double Album, closed out the year as the best-selling album of any genre.

After a short break over the holidays, Wallen will return to the road for the 54-date The Dangerous Tour, featuring special guests HARDY and Larry Fleet. The tour has already sold out in most markets.
