Country superstar Kelsea Ballerini and award-winning actor Anthony Mackie will host the 2022 CMT Music Awards on Monday, April 11.
On Thursday morning (Mar. 10), the cable television network revealed the exciting news of this year’s CMT Music Awards hosts.
“I’m thrilled to be returning as host at this year’s CMT Awards with Anthony Mackie!” Ballerini gushed. “This award show is always a special one, as it revolves around the fans and celebrates their favorite artists. This year is especially cool to be a part of as CMT grows into a network spot and expands for even more fans to get involved. It’s going to be a big one and I can’t wait!”
“I had the pleasure of presenting at last year’s CMT Music Awards and received the warmest welcome from the country music community and the city of Nashville,” Mackie added. “I can’t wait to get back to Music City to co-host this year’s awards with the amazing Kelsea Ballerini.”
“Half Of My Hometown” singer, Ballerini, has won two CMA and ACM Awards, as well as received dozens of other nominations at several coveted award shows. The East Tennessee native became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2019, which at the time she was the youngest member inducted.
Mackie is best known for his role as Sam Wilson/The Falcon in Marvel movies such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and more. The actor also appeared in Million Dollar Baby, 8 Mile, The Hurt Locker, We Are Marshall, among others.
This marks Ballerini’s second time as co-host, after sharing the stage with Kane Brown in 2021. Mackie, a first-time host for the CMT Awards, previously presented the Video Of The Year award to Carrie Underwood in 2021.
Nominations for the 2022 CMT MUSIC AWARDS will be announced on Wednesday, March 16, in tandem with the start of fan voting. Additional details on Nominations, Performers and Presenters to be announced in the coming weeks.

Additionally, CMT will air CMT MUSIC AWARDS EXTENDED CUT with an added 30 minutes of new performances and extra bonus content on Friday, April 15th (8:00-11:30 PM ET). Additional details on the extended cut and CMT MUSIC AWARDS WEEK programming will be announced at a later date.
The 2022 CMT MUSIC AWARDS are Executive Produced by Margaret Comeaux (CMT), John Hamlin (Switched On Entertainment), Leslie Fram (CMT) and Jason Owen (Sandbox Entertainment); Patrizia DiMaria (Ladypants Productions) is co-executive producer; Jackie Barba and Heather D. Graffagnino are executives in charge of production; Shanna Strassberg and Taryn Hurd are talent producers.

For the first time on CBS, the 2022 CMT Music Awards will air live from Nashville on Monday, April 11 at 8/7c. The show will also be available to stream live and on demand on Paramount+.
