Cody Johnson has been forced to cancel his concert appearances this week due to illness.

The chart-topping superstar and his team shared the unfortunate news with fans via social media on Tuesday evening.

“Regrettably, the Cody Johnson concerts scheduled for this Thursday, Friday & Saturday are unable to go on as originally planned due to illness,” his statement reads.

The statement continues, “We understand the inconvenience this causes with travel, plans and with purchased tickets, and we apologize for this unforeseen circumstance. We very much appreciate your understanding and patience, and we will make every attempt to get back to these markets to make up the dates as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support.”

The statement encouraged fans to hold on to their tickets until receiving further information.

“Please be on the lookout for an email from your original point of purchase regarding your tickets for these shows,” the message concluded.

The Cancelation Affects Shows In West Virginia, Virginia And Pennsylvania

The concerts impacted by the cancelations include Thursday, August 11 in Lewisburg, West Virginia at the State Fair of West Virginia, Friday, August 12 in Richmond, Virginia at Virginia Credit Union LIVE!, and Saturday, August 13 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania at 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial.

Friday and Saturday’s shows were already sold out, according to Cody Johnson’s website.

Cody Johnson Will Return To The Road On August 18

The country hitmaker’s next scheduled tour date is set for Thursday, August 18 at Citi Field in New York, New York with the Zac Brown Band.

The Texas native is scheduled to make two appearances on the Today Show in the coming weeks. First, he will perform his current single “Human” for television viewers on August 17 and on Labor Day, September 5 fans can catch his appearance to perform his platinum-selling, multi-week #1 song “’Til You Can’t.”

Both songs are featured on Johnson’s Human The Double Album which debuted as a top country album the week of its release last fall.

In addition to joining select dates of the Zac Brown Band’s tour, Johnson has been headlining and selling out his own shows throughout the year. According to a recent press release, his calendar year includes 34 sell-outs, including a recent sold-out concert at FirstBank Amphitheater in Nashville.
