Brandon Davis released a new song called, “Stand The Watch,” and in addition, premiered its music video on YouTube Friday (Apr. 22).
The patriotic song, which is currently only available on YouTube, pays tribute to the United States military and was filmed aboard the USS Battleship Missouri in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
“This song is a small way of giving back to those who gave and are giving their all for us each and every single day,” Davis shared of the tune. “It’s because of those who stood and stand the watch that we are able to wake up every day and live a life of freedom. There’s no ‘thank you’ big enough, but I hope ‘Stand the Watch’ shows our troops and veterans that they are not alone and that we stand with them.”
Davis discussed his experience filming on the ship in a video posted to his Facebook page.
“To say it was breathtaking might be an understatement,” he said. “Looking at such rich history about not only our country, but the brave men and women who fought, and some, who unfortunately died for it,” he later added. Davis teamed up with Old Salt Coffee Company to write the song and film the music video back in November of 2021.
The coffee company, which helped premiere the music video on Facebook and Instagram Live, also shared that it would donate $1 dollar a bag to its “non-profit partners” for every purchase made. Old Salt Coffee is a Navy veteran-owned business whose mission is to bring veterans together to share their stories over a cup of coffee, according to their website.
In addition, Davis said he would choose five service members to honor with special care packages as a way to thank them. Davis has encouraged his fans to nominate deserving service members in the comment section of a video he posted about his new song on Facebook.
This Is Not The First Time Brandon Davis Has Paid Tribute To The U.S. Military
“Stand The Watch” is not the first song Davis has written in honor of the United States military.
He previously released the track, “More Than A Flag,” in July 2021, which you can listen to below.
Davis reflected on what the song meant to him telling Music Mayhem, “Every single bit of what I get to do, from raising my kids, to writing music and singing songs is because brave men and women made the selfless decision to fight for, die for and protect our country. There will never be enough words to explain how grateful I am of those who put their lives on the line for our freedom. ‘It’s More Than A Flag.’”
In addition to releasing his new track and its accompanying music video, Davis is gearing up to tour with country superstar, Tim McGraw starting on April 29.
“Getting to tour with one of my country music idols and share the stage with him is a dream come true…” Davis said. “And I can’t wait to hit all these cities we haven’t made it to yet and connect with the BD Brigade in each one through the music.”
Additionally, Davis recently released his 8-track debut album, Hearts Don’t Rust, on April 15. The project is available now everywhere HERE.
