It was Labor Day weekend of 2021 when Tim McGraw helped propel Brandon Davis‘ career by sharing a TikTok duet of Davis singing along with McGraw’s classic end-of-summer anthem, “Something Like That.” McGraw said that Davis “did one hell of a job” on the song, sharing the duet with his millions of TikTok followers.

Davis tells Music Mayhem, “I was blown away seeing that a man who was one of my country idols since I was a kid was now showing me that he knew I existed and liked my music. Seeing something like that (pun intended) really marked a once in a lifetime moment in my career.”

Now, Brandon Davis is on the verge of another career milestone – going on tour with Tim McGraw.

The 17-city amphitheater tour kicks off on April 29 in Rogers, Arkansas and will run through June 4 in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Joining McGraw and Davis are “Home Sweet” singer Russell Dickerson and fellow TikTok sensation Alexandra Kay.

When Davis found out that he’d be joining the McGraw Tour 2022, it took him a minute to process the news and react. “I honestly don’t think my brain could function when I got that call, I just remember saying ‘absolutely’ a lot.”

Davis knows this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so he’s immensely grateful for McGraw.

“It means the world, and I’m beyond honored that the man himself gave me the chance to take that stage and do what I truly love on such a large scale,” says Davis.

Now that the news has sunk in, Davis can’t wait to hit the road. “Getting to tour with one of my country music idols and share the stage with him is a dream come true… And I can’t wait to hit all these cities we haven’t made it to yet and connect with the BD Brigade in each one through the music.”

Davis has started to prepare for the tour by connecting with fellow opener, Alexandra Kay. “She’s such a talented artist with a beautiful voice, and I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with her.”

When it comes to headliner McGraw, Davis is hoping for a chance to collaborate with him. “If the moment presents itself for me and Tim to finally collaborate on a song, I’ll jump at the chance because that would be yet another dream come true… Tim is such a staple and pillar in country music, and he’s a guy that I’ve always looked up to. He believes in his music and has such good family values and that’s truly where I feel our paths cross and blend together.”

Additionally, Davis recently announced his 8-track debut album, Hearts Don’t Rust, which is due out April 15. The project’s title track, co-written by Davis and his wife Destiny, will be out on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14).
