Blake Shelton Says His Wife Gwen Stefani Is “Magical”: “She Really Is One Of A Kind”

Blake Shelton said his wife Gwen Stefani is “magical” during a recent conversation with People.

Shelton spoke with the outlet while promoting his “Helmet of Heroes” collaboration with IndyCar driver Jimmie Johnson at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway at a race honoring U.S. veterans ahead of Memorial Day.

“I wish everybody could have a chance to meet and talk to Gwen Stefani at some point in their life because you’ll just be a better person for it, is the only way I know to say it,” Shelton told People. “She’s just a magical person to be around. She really is one of a kind and I … That’s another one of those things. How could you even dream that? You know? And it happened,” he added.

Shelton, who’ll be celebrating one year of marriage to Stefani on July 3, met the No Doubt front-woman on the set of NBC’s The Voice back in 2015.

Shelton recalled meeting Stefani on the set of the popular singing competition, sharing a reel to Instagram featuring a series of photos of the couple. “Shows up for work, meets my wife,” Shelton wrote, using text overlay on the video.

Shelton and Stefani got engaged in October 2020. The couple wed in 2021 at Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

Shelton was previously married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, while Stefani was married to British singer Gavin Rossdale. Both marriages ended in divorce.

Stefani explained back in 2016 that she wasn’t looking to get involved in a new romantic relationship following her divorce from Rossdale, telling Howard Stern, “[Blake and I] just started this friendship, which was unbelievable that God would put us in a position to have each other at that moment, in the same exact moment.” Stefani said she and Shelton bonded over their respective divorces.

Shelton isn’t just in love with wife Stefani, though. The country singer also recently shared how much he adores his step-sons, Kingston, 16; Zuma, 13; and Apollo, 8.

Shelton said he relates to his step-sons’ situation because growing up, he also had a step-father, who set a great example for him.

“The example that my dad set for me was that wasn’t even a thing, that was not even a consideration,” he explained. “You got three boys, awesome. My dad did it. My dad raised me. I can do this. I didn’t know what I was signing up for, but I was all about signing up for it. And every day I fall in love with the boys as much as I do with Gwen,” he said.

Shelton surprised Stefani by writing a wedding song for her called, “We Can Reach The Stars” when they tied the knot back in 2021.

Stefani will return to NBC’s The Voice this fall for the show’s 22nd season alongside husband Shelton, John Legend, and brand-new coach, Camila Cabello.
