Promising “a lot of sparkles and a lot of flips” for his 2024 MTV VMAs performance during his pre-show interview, it is safe to say that Benson Boone delivered, putting on a bombastic show that earned him a standing ovation from everyone at UBS Arena.

Boone appeared onstage behind the piano — channelling his inner Harry Styles in a blue sparkly jumpsuit with some Adidas sneakers — playing the infectious melody of the MTV VMA Award-winning ballad, “Beautiful Things.”

He built up some tension as he slowly started to stand up from the bench, doing a massive flip just moments before the chorus began. From then on, Boone’s phenomenal vocals were on full display throughout the set, hitting impressive note after impressive note as sparks flew in the background.

Making his way to standing atop the piano, Boone did a flip off of the instrument and hit an extreme high note before concluding the song.

The entire country is seemingly a fan of Benson Boone and his song “Beautiful Things,” as the star-studded audience was singing along from start to finish, including stars like Sabrina Carpenter. After such a stellar performance, it is safe to say that he has gained some new supporters as well, as the set was nothing short of sensational.

Benson Boone Wins Best Alternative Video For “Beautiful Things”

On the red carpet at UBS Arena — where Boone stunned in a black, sheer floral shirt, accessorized with silver jewelry — the “Cry” singer let his curly hair and mustache be on full display. The best accessory of all, though, was his girlfriend, actress and social media sensation Maggie Thurmon, making their first public debut as a couple tonight.

Not only did he and his significant other look great, but he was feeling great as well, as he earned his first “Moon Person” for Best Alternative Video For “Beautiful Things” during his pre-show interview.

“This has been the craziest year of my life by far,” he said while accepting the award. “I am truly honored to be in this crowd of people. Looking at Miss Katy Perry in the background, I’m kinda peeing my pants a little bit right now, but it’s been pretty insane for me. I’m very grateful for the fans that have, you know, led me to this place.”
