Bailey Zimmerman is gearing up for an unforgettable evening at the 2024 CMA Awards, where he is nominated for New Artist of The Year and will deliver his debut performance on the awards show. The country superstar teased his upcoming performance, revealing that he played a significant role in the creative process.

Teases Debut CMA Awards Performance

“It’s going to be crazy. It’s going to be sick. I’ve had a hand in the creative with it all, and they’ve really let me be a part of that a lot. So it’s got the BZ touch on it,” Zimmerman explained during an exclusive interview with Music Mayhem on Thursday (Nov. 14). “I’m excited. We’ve got some crazy cool things that I don’t think people are going to be expecting, so it’s going to be one of the biggest of the night. I’m pretty stoked.”

When asked how he is preparing for his CMA Awards debut performance, Zimmerman replied, “I don’t think you can actually really ever get ready for it. You just go and do it. I feel like if I tried to get ready for it, I would be more nervous than if I would’ve just went and winged it because what I usually do anyway on everything is just wing it, and hopefully it goes good. So I think I’m just amped. It feels crazy. To be acknowledged for your music and to be acknowledged for your performing is crazy. So it’s an honor and I really hope I crush it. Like, I am praying, I crush it.”

Alongside his excitement for the performance and what fans can expect, Zimmerman opened up about who will accompany him on the red carpet, his reaction to being nominated for New Artist of The Year, and the hard work that led him here.

Bailey Zimmerman Reveals Who He’s Bringing As His CMA Awards Red Carpet Date

Zimmerman also shared that he will be bringing along his mom, Kristi, as his date for the CMA Awards red carpet while he continues his search for a wife.

“I think I’m going to take my mama. I’m going to get my mom fitted up. We’re going to be looking good together, and I think that’s who’s going to be my date, but I still am on the search [for a wife],” he said with a smile.

The “Holy Smokes” singer continued, “I wouldn’t say I’m out here looking for it, but I would say that is my life goal is, whether it be right now or in 10 years or two years or next month, whatever it may be. I just really hope to find somebody that loves me and supports me and same to them for me and kind of one biggest goal since I was young, is to have a loving family, a wife, kids, dogs running around the backyard. I’m looking for it, but I don’t know when I’ll find it, but I trust God in that. So yeah, I’m looking for a wife, but my mama is going to be my date to the CMAs.”

New Artist Of the Year Nomination

Zimmerman, who recently extended his management deal with The Core, is also vying for New Artist Of The Year at the coveted awards show. Fellow nominees in this category include Megan Moroney, Shaboozey, Nate Smith, Mitchell Tenpenny, and Zach Top.

Reveals His Reaction To Receiving A Nomination

The 24-year-old singer/songwriter shared what was going through his mind upon hearing about his nomination for New Artist Of The Year.

“Man, honestly, I think just a flashback to all of the work we’ve done over the last three or four years and all the people that have been involved and how many times we’ve talked about getting a CMA nomination,” Zimmerman recalled. “And to see it come through on the phone was just a big old deep breath. Just like, ah man, there’s been so many people working so hard. I’ve worked so hard, my band has worked so hard. And it’s just so cool to see it get acknowledged because there’s a lot of music in the world that is unbelievable music, unbelievable artists, and they never get the recognition, and they never get the acknowledgement, and it’s a pretty big privilege and honor to get it recognized.”

He continued, “So I think it was just one of those things where hard work pays off and that was basically what the day was, was just sitting back and remembering all the hard work it’s taken to get here and man, how much further we have to go. And man, yeah, it was a great day, and it was a day that I dreamed of for a long time, and then it finally happened, and it was sick. Yeah, Something I’ll never forget for sure. I mean, it was insane.”
