Bailey Zimmerman worked a “shift” at the Raising Cane’s Nashville Flagship store ahead of 2025 CMA Fest on Wednesday, June 4.

The country superstar stopped by the Raising Cane’s restaurant at 212 Broadway in Nashville to serve up Box Combos for hundreds of fans, perform a few songs, and chat with the media about his new music — including “Comin’ In Cold” and his collaborations with BigXThaPlug (“All The Way”) and Luke Combs (“Backup Plan”). He also teased the hundreds of fans in attendance that his upcoming new album features additional duets that will blow their minds.

Bailey zimmerman Talks New Song, “Comin’ In Cold”

He began by talking about his new song, “Comin’ In Cold,” which arrived just a few days after his surprise appearance at Raising Cane’s in Music City.

“There’s something about ‘Comin’ In Cold’ that I haven’t done before because it’s not about heartbreak – it’s about this girl that I shouldn’t be chasing. I’m chasing red flags, and I’m addicted to it. She’s everything I want and nothing I can have, just like a beer on a Saturday night,” Zimmerman explained during a press conference at Raising Cane’s on Lower Broadway in Nashville. “I’ve been trying to avoid being heartbroken and it’s always something. ‘Comin’ In Cold’ is about my life these last couple years. It’s more mature, but also not at the same time because I’m still chasing girls in bars.”

Working With Luke Combs And BigXThaPlug

He opened up about his current single, “Backup Plan,” which features fellow country superstar Luke Combs. “Working with Luke was a dream come true. I never really thought he was going to reply when I reached out about a collab, but he hit me up a month later, and we’ve been good buddies ever since,” Zimmerman continued. “Luke never shoots content, but he said he loves me and wanted to shoot with me, so it was an honor. Our song is in the top 20 on the radio, and it’s a dream come true – I’m so grateful.”

He also spoke about his collaboration with BigXThaPlug, titled “All The Way,” describing the duet as “so random” and saying it came together unexpectedly.

“I heard he was going to do a project and six months later he reached out to see if I wanted my vocals on it. I was like, ‘heck yeah, I do!’” Zimmerman detailed of the track, which Zimmerman and BigXThaPlug delivered the live debut of a few days later at CMA Fest on Sunday (June 8). “When a collab sounds like both artists are having fun, that’s when you know it’s going to be good, and I think we’ll see a lot of artists trying new things.”

“All The Way” is expected to appear on BigXThaPlug’s forthcoming new country-inspired project, and “Backup Plan” will be on Zimmerman’s upcoming new album, Different Night, Same Rodeo, set to arrive on August 8, 2025. While details about Zimmerman’s new album remain under wraps, he did hint that the project will feature more collaborations.

“I have more collabs coming up that will be announced soon, including a crazy collab that no one would think we’d sound good together, but we do!” Zimmerman teased before sharing a few of his dream collaborators. “Everyone – myself included – wants to collab with Morgan Wallen, and I hope I can when the time is right. I would love to work with Kacey Musgraves.”

“Bailey is a talented, energetic artist and friend, and I’ve loved watching his career grow over the years. He puts his heart and soul into everything he does, and you can feel it when you listen to his music,” Graves said in a statement via a press release. “It was great having him at our Nashville Flagship ahead of the kickoff to his new tour on Friday and headlining CMA Fest this weekend. I’m a big fan of Bailey’s and can’t wait to see what the rest of the year holds for him. I’m hoping we’ll get to see each other again soon!”

Zimmerman added, “I’m so thankful to Cane’s for sponsoring my tour last year. I didn’t have much time to show my love, but I am so appreciative. Every single tour stop, I had Cane’s Chicken Fingers waiting for me. Todd is a legend and a friend. He’s a good human who puts God first and is an all-around great guy. Every time you walk into a Cane’s, you can tell someone put their soul into it. It’s not about money or fancy things, it’s about people.”

After my first song blew up, everyone was shocked that I sang, and I was like, ‘I don’t!’ My managers believed in me and Warner Records came in and had publishers that took a chance on me when no one else was willing to. I can’t thank everyone enough.”
