Ashley McBryde Performed Loretta Lynn’s “You’re Lookin’ At Country” With The Icon’s Gibson Guitar On Big Night At The Museum

Ashley McBryde performed Loretta Lynn’s hit song “You’re Lookin’ At Country” on Wednesday (Oct. 28) evening during Big Night At The Museum.

The country singer performed the song with Lynn’s 1956 Gibson J-50 guitar in which she was honored to be able to play and said she was worried about sweating on the guitar’s neck.

“Wow, is it weird to smell it?” McBryde joked as she picked up the iconic guitar. “I am worried about my hands sweating on her neck.”

“You’re Lookin’ at Country” is a song written and made famous by Loretta Lynn in 1971. The song peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs.

“I had to write ‘You’re Lookin’ At Country’ as a love song or it wouldn’t sell”, Lynn told Jimmy Guterman in the liner notes for the 1994 box set Honky Tonk Girl: The Loretta Lynn Collection. “But it wasn’t a love song. I got the idea from looking at my land. I wanted to write what I saw”
