Country music lovebirds Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd have dominated the stage with their romantic duets, but fans are ready to hear even more from the labelmates.
In 2021, the female powerhouse was featured on her husband’s album, Pelago, with their duet of the soulful ballad, “Chasing After You.” Morris recently released her own 11-song collection, Humble Quest, which featured several songs about her relationship with Hurd. On the day the project dropped, the “To A T” singer took to social media to show his support.
“So proud of Humble Quest. It’s my favorite Maren record to date,” he wrote with great sincerity. “Having lived in this bubble for two years just makes it even sweeter having it out. I loved watching it be created in Hawaii and can’t believe it’s finally here for everyone to enjoy. Congrats, MM! Love you more than anything and so proud of you every day.”
Now, Morris is looking ahead to her next potential record that could involve more collaborations between the couple.
Hurd recently sat down with Taste of Country Nights host Evan Paul to discuss the conversation he and his wife had about potentially recording a full project together.
“She brought it up the other day,” he shared. “We were listening to the radio, and she was like, ’If we ever did a record together, I’d want this guy to produce it’… So, it was the first time that she ever brought it up.”
He didn’t name the producer he was referring to, but he did express interest in going on the road with his superstar wife. The couple has a habit of joining each other on the road now and then to share the stage for a song or two.
“I think it’d be fun. I think people would enjoy that,” he shared. “We’ve talked about the idea of it. I don’t think there’s any solid plans yet to do something like that, but hey, I guess it would count toward both of our record deals to do an album together, so we might as well.”
Plans to move forward with the project have not been confirmed, but Hurd gave a glimmer go hope when he revealed that they have enough songs that he “loves” in their catalog just ready to make an appearance at any moment.
“We could record an album tomorrow and have it out in two weeks,” he told Paul. “We’ve written so many songs together over the years and so many great ones that no one’s ever heard that, at least, I love. It wouldn’t be hard to put something together.”
While fans anxiously wait for updates about the possibilities of the new project, Morris is “making a (set) list and checking it twice,” according to a recent post on social media. She will hit the road for her Humble Quest tour beginning on June 9. Hurd is currently in mist of rescheduled performances for his tour de Pelago.
Through it all, Hurd and Morris continue to encourage each other as they navigate their musical projects and parenting their 2-year-old son Hayes.
