Scotty McCreery and wife Gabi McCreery are proud parents to 10-month-old son Merrick Avery, and the couple has been sharing their son’s milestones on social media with fans since his arrival.

Whether he’s participating in an outdoor activity, joining his dad on stage or just being generally adorable, Avery is a social media star and McCreery a clearly devoted dad. Check out some of the singer’s best dad moments below.

Swimming With Avery And Moose

Avery recently took a dip in the pool with his dad and the family’s dog, Moose, with McCreery holding his son and floating him around the pool as Avery giggled.

“Things are going swimmingly,” McCreery captioned the adorable video.

All Smiles On The Beach

The father-son pair soaked in the late days of summer in this August post, a photo of McCreery holding his son on the beach as both McCreerys’ smiled for the camera.

“Beach dayz w/ my buddy,” the singer captioned the shot.

Trip To Zion National Park In Utah

In July, McCreery and Gabi took Avery to Zion National Park in Utah. According to McCreery’s Instagram posts, his son is already a pro on the trails, as Avery happily accompanied his parents on a few hikes while riding in a carrier McCreery was wearing.

McCreery shared multiple slideshows on Instagram from the family trip full of group photos, scenery and a few videos of his smiling son.

Avery Saying His First Words

A May video of McCreery sitting on a porch in a rocking chair and holding his son was notable for the “Five More Minutes” singer after Avery began chatting it up, babbling to his dad before taking McCreery’s sunglasses right off his head.

“Did you just repeat what I said?” the singer marveled in the clip. “Sure sounded like it.” In his caption, he added, “Avery skipping over first words and going straight to sentences??”

Bonding Over McCreery’s Love For Golf

As an avid golf fan himself, McCreery has naturally been teaching his son the ways of the game. A March photo saw the American Idol winner reading a plush book called Golf With Dad to his son while cuddled up on a couch, Avery clearly enjoying what McCreery was reading.

“Morning reading in honor of the @theplayerschamp,” McCreery declared, referencing The Players Championship tournament.

Avery Made His Stage Debut During McCreerys Concert

At less than six months old, Avery was already a pro at getting on stage, as evidenced by a February snap of McCreery holding his son, fully decked out in protective headphones, during a performance.

“My little man on the big stage,” he gushed.

Avery’s First Trip To New York City

As McCreery travels often for his career, Avery has already gotten to see more of the country than most infants, including a June trip to New York City.

Gabi documented her son’s adventure in a slideshow that included shots of Avery hanging out with his mom during some of McCreery’s press, taking in the city in a stroller pushed by McCreery and a video of Avery gazing out over Times Square from a window before coughing some spit up onto his dad’s hand.

“A whirlwind trip to the Big Apple,” she captioned the post. “Avery couldn’t contain his excitement.”

Avery Is “Officially A Roadie”

Along with travel, Avery has also joined his dad on the road, which Gabi shared with fans in a sweet series of photos of Avery on McCreery’s tour bus in March, including a snap of the singer proudly holding his son.

“Officially a roadie,” Gabi declared.

McCreery Celebrated Career Achievement With His Wife And Son

Avery was also on hand for a notable moment in his dad’s career at the unveiling of the new American Currents: State of the Music Exhibition in March. The latest edition of the exhibit features a section dedicated to McCreery, which the country star shared “feels pretty incredible.”

“I have driven by the Hall of Fame a bunch,” he said at the event. “I have taken the tours. I’ve walked through and seen it and always wanted to be a part of it. It’s an honor to be included.”

“Dad’s Biggest Fan”

In a post celebrating Avery’s six-month birthday, Gabi shared some sweet father-son moments including a photo of Avery, headphones on, clutching an all access pass for one of McCreery’s shows as well as a snap of the singer smiling as he held his son backstage.

“6 months with our happy boy,” Gabi wrote. “Mama’s right-hand man and dad’s biggest fan.”

Additionally, Avery has already made an impact on his dad’s songwriting, as McCreery told Taste of Country that his next album will include a few “baby songs.”

“My music, for sure, has, kind of, leaned a little bit into that autobiographical stuff,” he said, adding that fatherhood is a new way for him to relate to his fans.

“Something that I learned about music is how alike we all are rather than different. When I talk about my life, I could be talking about thousands of other people’s lives, and they relate to it, too,” he shared. “So there’ll be a lot of life stuff. Just about not taking things for granted, and that’s where I’m at right now — just appreciating this new stage of life and new fatherhood.”
