Victory Brinker made America’s Got Talent history!

Hailing from Pennsylvania, the 9-year-old opera singer earned the coveted golden buzzer after delivering a performance on Tuesday (July 6) that blew away the ‘AGT’ judges and all of America. The golden buzzer sends an act straight through to the live shows with no further questions asked, typically each judge gets one chance to the push the buzzer, however, Brinker’s performance was so shocking that the show broke the rules for her.

Brinker admitted that she was “exnervous” (excited and nervous at the same time) when she took to the ‘AGT’ stage on Tuesday evening.

When judge Simon Cowell asked the Pennsylvania native what she would do with the $1 million grand prize, she said she would purchase Cowell “a rainbow shirt that has glitter on it” and she said he needs to add “some color” to his bland wardrobe.

The contestant performed a soaring opera number called “Juliet’s Waltz,” a performance that stunned the judges, who were so impressed by her vocal range that it immediately earned her a spot in the live shows.

Howie Mandell even labeled her voice “angelic,” before Sofia Vergara added that she is “a star.”

After a brief pause during the judges commentary following Brinker’s performance, Cowell requested to speak to the show’s host, Terry Crews. Cowell, Crews and the other ‘AGT’ judges had a brief discussions huddled together behind the judges desk before turning back to the stage to relay exciting news to the contestant.

“Victory, as I said, turning up, in terms of your career, is really important; however, we’re not going to give you a yes today,” Cowell said. “We’re going to do something else we’ve never, ever, ever done on the show before,” he continued. “We are all going to give you something special.”

All four judges and the show’s host hit the Golden Buzzer at once, sending the young contestant to the live show round. This is the first time in the history of the popular competition show that all four judges and the host have unanimously used the buzzer on one contestant.
