Morgan Wade gives listeners another glimpse into her highly-anticipated second album, Psychopath, with her newest track, “80’s Movie.” Stream the new release now HERE!

Written by the “Wilder Days” singer alongside Sadler Vaden, the catchy and lively tune tells the nostalgic tale of falling in love with someone and cherishing those special moments together, making references to classic ’80s romance movies along the way.

“80’s Movie”

“The way you grabbed me / When Harry met Sally / You made me laugh / Like an 80’s movie / You drove me crazy/ Like Baby and Swayze / Laying in the grass / Like an 80’s movie / Hopeless romantic / Now we’re dirty dancing / I had the time of my life / I know you’re a mistake / And I’m heading for heartbreak / So I take your hand / Like an 80’s movie,” sings Wade in her new release.

The single secured a feature spot on Apple Music’s New Music Daily. Wade joined Zane Lowe to chat about “80’s Movie” and her eagerly awaited forthcoming project on Apple Music 1.

“If you want to feel instantly happy, you can watch a feel-good movie from the ’80s and it’ll cheer you right up,” Wade shared. “That nostalgic, joyful sentiment is what we were channeling when writing this song and I think we got there. ‘80’s Movie’ is fun, melodic and light-hearted and I am so excited it’s finally here.”

Wade carefully crafted the 13-track project, enlisting the help of notable songwriters, studio musicians and her longtime producer and collaborator, Vaden. The title track of the record recently earned the title of Best Country Songs of the Year So Far by Rolling Stone.

“Regardless of what people say about Psychopath, I’m proud because I feel like it showcases where I am at this moment in time. I have no choice but to be authentic,” Wade wrote in an Instagram post, getting vulnerable with her followers. “And I have to feel what I feel. And right now, I’m really feeling the music. It’s been a long time coming, but I’m so excited to finally tell y’all that my next album is done! Psychopath is the title of my sophomore project…”

Due August 25, fans can pre-order Psychopath now here.

Taking The United States by Storm

Wade hit the road at the beginning of the year for her headlining NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN TOUR — a stint that sold out 35 shows and boasted over 40,000 tickets sold. Not only has she taken the U.S. by storm, Wade also saw great success on her headlining UK tour, performing at venues three times the size of those which she played last year. She had a particularly notable performance at Royal Albert Hall’s very first Highways Festival on May 20th

“It’s really incredible to come over here, to somewhere that you’re not from, a completely different country, and have [the audience] singing my songs right back to me,” Wade explained in an interview with the Evening Standard. “That was just an awesome feeling.”

In addition to the release date for Psychopath approaching, Wade is also the current cover star for the UK’s Maverick Magazine and appears on Thomas Wesley: Chapter 2 – Swamp Savant, Diplo’s new album.

She is set to join Turnpike Troubadours and Eric Church on select summer US dates and will make an appearance at high-profile festivals such as Lollapalooza, Railbird, Austin City Limits and more before returning to Europe for her fall headline run.
