Luke Combs gave fans a taste of what’s to come on his bluegrass album.
During a recent concert in Houston, Texas, the chart-topping country superstar performed an unreleased new bluegrass song called “Falling For You Still,” as per a fan, who shared the performance in a video clip on YouTube.
“I’m still falling for you girl / from the second that I saw you / my whole world stood still / after all this time / I’m just as in love as the day I made you mine / just stop flying high, it never will / I’m falling for you still,” Combs sings in the banjo-infused song.
Fans are eagerly awaiting a full bluegrass album from the North Carolina native, and they expressed that in the comments of the video.
“A Bluegrass Luke combs album would make my dreams come true,” one fan commented on the clip. “Pure talent.”

The song, which came out just in time for Black History month, brought a timely message of unity while addressing the cultural divide and finds the two singers flawlessly harmonizing to a banjo-infused instrumental that also includes the mandolin and an acoustic guitar.
“We’re all so far, so far apart now / It’s as deep as it is wide / We’re about to fall apart now if we can’t reach the other side / We gotta find a way across the great divide,” Combs and Strings sing together during the chorus.
And upon releasing “The Great Divide,” Combs shared that he had a bluegrass album in the works, but first he wanted to finish his forthcoming third studio album, which has yet to be named or announced.
“I wrote [“The Great Divide”] with my buddies Billy and Wyatt Durrette in June of last year,” Combs previously shared. “It was originally intended to be on a bluegrass album that I was working on, but that has been put on pause for now and album three is up next.”
Combs continued, “Since it was meant to be on my bluegrass album, it will sound a little different than what y’all are used to hearing from me, but would love for y’all to check it out and let me know what y’all think.”
Additionally, Combs is hard at work on LC3, which is expected to be released in the near future.
Combs officially began working on his forthcoming third studio album in early March 2021, which he announced on his 31st Birthday. And although he hasn’t shared an official release date for the album yet, he has been teasing fans with updates often on social media, including sharing songs that could potentially make the album. He’s shared songs such as “See Me Now,” “Ever Mine,” “We Still Drink Beer,” “Good Ol’ Days” and many more.
Combs’ upcoming new record will be the follow-up to his chart-topping, 2x Platinum 2019 album, What You See Is What You Get, and the 2020 deluxe edition of that dubbed, What You See Ain’t Always What You Get.
