Kelly Clarkson recently caught up with Jay Leno for some fun.

As part of his show, Jay Leno’s Garage, the pair headed to a self-sustaining farm where they raced the world’s first methane-powered tractor. Leno explained that the pair were going to lift bales of hay with the tractor before dumping them behind some plastic orange cones and plowing the land.

“Have you ever plowed a field?” Clarkson asked Leno, laughing.

Before the pair got to the tractor races, however, Leno explained a little bit more about what a self-sustaining farm does. “This is what they call a self-sustaining farm in the sense that you have a tractor, but the tractor runs on methane, which is really just the manure from the pig,” he said, gesturing toward a pig in a pen behind them.

“That’s incredible,” Clarkson responded.

From there, Leno’s friend Dan Valen drove in on a giant blue tractor. The New Holland T6-180 is the world’s first methane-powered tractor and retails for $213,459, Leno indicated. Described as “revolutionary,” the tractor is a “carbon-neutral machine.” The tractor also operates at the same performance level as a John Deere tractor but is better for the environment.

“I’m about to spend the summer on my ranch and I want to get one of these [tractors],” Clarkson remarked after learning more about the tractor’s specifications. “I didn’t even know these existed. My goal is a self-sustaining ranch, so I love it,” she added.

While the seven-minute YouTube clip didn’t show the actual competition between Clarkson and Leno, fans did get a chance to see them each have a brief tractor-driving lesson. The full episode of the show is available to watch on CNBC Prime.

This is also not the first time Clarkson and Leno have teamed up for an episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. In a June 2020 episode of the show, Clarkson and Leno went on an off-roading adventure in the American Idol alum’s home state of Texas.

Clarkson is just one of the many notable guests on Jay Leno’s Garage. The former talk show host was recently joined by President Joe Biden for an episode of his show where they discussed the future of electric cars.

Jay Leno’s Garage airs on Wednesday nights at 10PM on CNBC.
