Brantley Gilbert recently surprised country singer Colt Ford on stage with a unique gift during a concert, and then later in the show, they performed their duet together!
In a video filmed on Friday (Sept. 24), shared by Ford on Sunday (Sept. 26), Gilbert told viewers that he is going to surprise the “Keys To The Country” singer on stage and that he has no idea that the Georgia native is even there.
“What’s up world, Brantley Gilbert here, look we [are about to] surprise Colt Ford in Indianapolis, Indiana,” Gilbert, who was standing in a tour bus with a plate of chicken and biscuits, said in the clip on TikTok. “He ain’t got a clue we’re coming, just so you know if you’re ever going to surprise Colt, you better bring your ass some chicken and biscuits. Let’s get it, son!”
The clip then took fans on a journey with Gilbert as he walked from the tour bus to the stage with a gift, in the form of chicken and biscuits, as Ford as was on stage singing a song called “Chicken And Biscuits.”
Later in the show, after already surprising Ford, Gilbert surprised the capacity crowd with a special performance of their duet, “Dirt Road Anthem (Revisited).” Performing the popular, fan-favorite tune at 8 Seconds Saloon in Indiana on Friday (Sept. 24).

Ford shared an emotion-filled message alongside the clip of Gilbert surprising him on Instagram.
“So last night in Indy @8secondssaloon was such a great reminder of why I Play Music and Love The Fans so much,” Ford said. “We had an Amazing show rocking and in the middle of Chicken and Biscuits all of a sudden the crowd starts looking away from me, and I’m like what the Hell is going on.”
Ford continued, “I turn around and my Brother my Best Friend @brantleygilbert is sitting on the drum riser with a plate of chicken and biscuits it was FN Nuts. We are so lucky to get to play Music for y’all and BG and I never take for granted how good all our fans are to Us. We closed the show with DRA, and it felt like Home. We get tired like everyone else but to have a moment like that with someone I would Die for and be able to share it with y’all. Good Lord, I can’t explain how thankful I am that y’all give me the Honor of playing music for y’all. My Brother BG you’re 1 of a kind My Friend and WE will always Ride or Die.”
The country superstars have shared a longtime friendship that included multiple duets, concert cruises on Kick It In The Ship, and much more.
“He’s one of my favorite people in the world and has always been a close friend of mine,” Gilbert previously shared of Ford during an interview with Taste Of Country.
In fact, Gilbert’s latest album, Fire & Brimstone, features a song called “Welcome To Hazeville,” which features Ford, Lukas Nelson and country icon Willie Nelson.
