Brantley Gilbert and his 4-year-old son Barrett shared a milestone moment together on stage during a recent concert at Ashley Park in Newman, Georgia.
The country superstar surprised the crowd in his home state on Wednesday evening (Sept. 14) with a special guest.
In the midst of Gilbert’s headlining performance, he welcomed his 4-year-old son to the stage for the first-time ever to join him while he performed “Rolex On A Redneck,” a duet that originally features Jason Aldean.
“This song is about working hard for the cool sh-t you want. Your Rolex might be a brand-new jacked up truck [or] how about some guns? The moral of the story is hard work will put a Rolex on a redneck. I got a little help from my little boy. Y’all please welcome to the stage, it’s his debut, this is my son Barrett. You ready buddy?” Gilbert said.
While Gilbert’s son didn’t sing the tune with his famous father, he certainly worked the stage and stole the show. With his dad by his side, Barrett made his way down the runway slapping fans’ hands as Gilbert sang the lyrics to the popular tune.
The special onstage moment marked a milestone for Gilbert and his son. Despite several songs being written with inspiration from his children, Gilbert typically keeps them out of the spotlight with their faces hidden to protect their identity. This special moment marked one of the first times he has brought his kids into the spotlight.
Gilbert’s wife Amber Cochran Gilbert also shared a photo of her and Gilbert with their two children, Barrett, 4, and Braylen, 1.
“Show day with the babes 💗 Bray didn’t make it to Daddy’s set, but Barrett was all about it and had to be pulled offstage, 🤣” Amber wrote.
Several days after the show, the Georgia native took to social media to thank fans for being so gracious to his son at his show in the Peach State.
“Atlanta, I wanted to thank y’all for being so kind to Barrett the other night at the show…” Gilbert captioned a video. “Nothing compares to having Lil Man and the rest of the family out with us living this dream…”
He continued, “none of it would be possible without all of y’all #bgnation… I’ll never be able to explain how much your love and support – now and since the very beginning – means to me and my family… Thank you for taking this crazy ride with us 🙏 All I gotta say is we’re just getting started. 🤘🔥”
The clip was soundtracked by a song called “Man That Hung The Moon,” a track from Gilbert’s latest album, Fire & Brimstone. The song serves as a letter to his son Barrett, who was born in November 2017.
Gilbert is currently on the road touring with his next scheduled tour date being on Sunday, September 18 at The Big E Arena in West Springfield, MA.
Additionally, Gilbert recently announced that he will be hitting the road later this year with Five Finger Death Punch (5FDP).
Produced by Live Nation, the trek with 5FDP, which also features support from Cory Marks, kicks off on November 9 in Grand Rapids, MI at Van Andel Arena and continues through December 17, where the tour will wrap up in Las Vegas, NV at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
This isn’t the first time Gilbert has joined forces with Five Finger Death Punch as the two artists have previously teamed up for their No. 1 hit “Blue On Black” in 2019. Tickets for the trek are on-sale now at BrantleyGilbert.com.
