‘Tis the season to be jolly! It’s time to get in the holiday spirit because the Country Music Association (CMA) just released the lineup for the 13th annual holiday television special, CMA Country Christmas.
The one-hour show will feature festive performances of timeless country holiday classics from Steven Curtis Chapman, Dan + Shay, Scotty McCreery, Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Molly Tuttle, and The War And Treaty.
On Wednesday (Nov. 16), the Country Music Association revealed that Carly Pearce will return to host the 2022 CMA Country Christmas special. Pearce, who co-hosted the 12th annual CMA Country Christmas alongside Gabby Barrett, is “SO excited & honored to be your host again this year.”
The show will take viewers inside a beautifully decorated home reminiscent of classic Christmas television specials of the past, inviting viewers to sit back and enjoy the season in a warm and intimate setting with their families.
In partnership with Balsam Hill, who provided realistic artificial Christmas trees and holiday decor, CMA will truly bring the magic of Christmas to life in the makeshift home. Information on the products seen on stage during the show can be found at balsamhill.com/c/cma.
A just-released CMA Country Christmas teaser clip gives fans a sneak peek of what’s to come as it showcases clips of performances with the artists decked out in holiday attire.
While it’s unclear which songs each artist will perform, fans did hear a teaser of Pearce belting out the lyrics of the timeless Christmas hit, “Here Comes Santa Claus.”
Santa even makes an appearance in the clip.
In 2021, Jimmie Allen, Louis York & The Shindellas, BRELAND, Brett Eldredge, Lady A, Pistol Annies, Carrie Underwood and Lainey Wilson performed on the annual CMA Country Christmas special.
CMA Country Christmas, which is a production of the Country Music Association, will air on Thursday, December 8 at 9/8c on ABC and the next day on Hulu Disney+.
