Thomas Rhett debuted two brand new songs and announced a much-anticipated double album, Country Again: Side A and Country Again: Side B.

On Friday, March 5, the singer revealed that he has a double album on the way as well as releasing the first two from Side A.

“Good evening y’all, I never stay up till 11 o’clock, like ever, but I had to tonight just to share something with you.” Rhett began to explain. “We got a double album coming out this year, It’s called Country Again: Side A and Side B is going to come out later on this year but Side A comes out April the 30th.”

He continued to share, “So much of this record was written right here with these amazing curtains and a lot y’all have been following along with me on Instagram this past couple years and i’ve shared a bunch of these songs with you on Instagram and on other social media platforms and man this is one of my favorite records i’ve ever gotten to make. I feel so centered as a person. A lot of these songs were written just kind of about the lessons i’ve learned over this decade and and 2020 which i’m sure a lot of y’all have.”

“Growing Up” takes fans down memory lane and Rhett previously explained that the track explains his life over the past several years.

“As you get a little older / you get a little wiser / a little more turn that cheek / a little less what I want and more what I need / these days, I still get a little crazy in a lot of ways i’m still a kid I was / just a little less Jack in my cup / oh, I guess I’m growing up / yeah, I guess i’m growing up,” Rhett sings during the chorus of “Growing Up.”

“Want It Again” reminisces on wanting back the things that you used to have, reminding listeners to appreciate what you have currently, cause you may never have it again.

“So girl I kept / this heart of mine / somewhere good and safe / I knew you’d want it again someday,” Rhett sings in the chorus of “Want It Again.”

Country Again: Side A is set to be released on April 30. Country Again: Side B will be released at a later date.

Additionally, Rhett will perform a concert residency at Billy Bob’s Texas from May 6 through May 8 in Fort Worth, Texas. The concerts are apart of the iconic venue’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
