Thomas Rhett just-announced a three night concert residency at Billy Bob’s Texas in May and he says he is “pumped” to play the legendary venue.
The singer will perform three back-to-back concerts at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas from May 6 through May 8, in honor of the iconic venue’s 40th anniversary. The shows will have “strict Covid protocols in place” and will be limited capacity and socially distanced.
“Man it feels good to say this,” Rhett gushed in his announcement post. “The guys and I will be playing THREE back-to-back nights May 6, 7, & 8 at @billybobstexas to help celebrate their 40th birthday.”
Rhett later sharing, “I don’t think y’all understand how excited I am, or maybe you do, because you’re itching just as bad to goto a concert, as much I am playing one.” He continued: “I remember playing Billy Bob’s four or five years ago and it being such a blast. Such a legendary venue, such a legendary spot, and I am just pumped.
The hitmaker asked fans what they want to hear at the live shows, which he says is a question he hasn’t asked since October 2019 when he last was able to tour. He then teased that he has a bunch of new music coming out before the concert happens, so he will be performing new tunes during the shows.
“I haven’t asked this question since October of 2019 but what songs do you want to hear? We’re going to have a lot of new music out by then as well, so i’m going to play some of the new stuff but just start hitting me in my comments, like what old songs do you want to hear? What covers do you want to hear? It might be hard to pull me off stage to be honest with you. So, I hope y’all are ready for a party and just a night full of music and getting to hang, it’s going to be freakin’ awesome. Love y’all, Thank you Billy Bobs for doing this, this is incredible and we’ll see you soon.”
Tickets for the three night concert residency in Texas will go on sale to the public on Friday, Feb. 26 at 10AM CT, however Rhett’s Home Team fan club members will be able to access the presale on Thursday, Feb. 25. A portion of all proceeds from the shows will be donated to North Texas food bank and other organization helping locals after the recent devastating winter storm.
Fellow country superstar Miranda Lambert is also set to perform during the series of socially distanced anniversary concert celebrations at the honky tonk in April and May.
